All gran turismo's had speed test from gt1 to gt4 on test course 400m, 1000m, max speed etc then since test course got replaced with special stage route x speed test returned in gt5, so far it's not in gt6 hopefully it comes in a future update.

Would probably be DLC again... (Maybe a new 'speed test pack' with another oval track?)
Although with PD adding all of these new events and features now and in the near future, I would like to see the Speed Test in for free :)

Oh it is.
You could test the best way to launch, where to change gears, differences in tyre compound, and most importantly, having fun stacking 400m and top end runs with various rival stock cars. It was a whole new event to me in GT5 offline.
I just use the data logger with route x...gets you the same data and more...

I start at a line and launch...it's all in the logger, which is right there when you at the whatever track. You can test rolls, too and figure your gearing even further...not just from zero to x speed. So, some cars you're not tuning or testing for first and second gear and such, etc. This is why I just don't see a need. The logger makes it redundant. I guess if you want to have the satisfaction of seeing your distance time when you cross the line...one would want it... You can only see the top ten cars or so for each track anyways in lap record list, anyways.

Yes bro, but we talking stock cars. Also, you could see the top 100 rankings of each individual record, g-force, 0-60, 0-100, 0-400, 0-1000 and top end at 10000m. A lot is missing from just starting at the line if you know what I'm saying, though I doubt they will add it, which is sad.

In gt6 you can only see 10-15 for every track. They would have to make more changes than merely add the track. That and you can do everything I said with stock cars, too obviously.

Its just too much time, rolling to the line, starting from stand still, then completing the lap, saving it, then going to the data logger, for each car you want to test. Hehe, some of us have huge responsibilities. GT5's speed test was perfect.

I don't see how you'd get an accurate 400m time either.
Doesn't seem to be any time measurement in the datalogger? (unless there's things missing since I havn't updated to 1.13 yet).
