I want to wrap my G27 wheel rim in alcantara. I have already wrapped the spokes of the wheel in CF wrap, looks good. How ever the leather on the steering wheel doesn't feel right, it feels cheap. I don't mind it, though its not that bad.

So if any of you have wraped your G27 in alcantara, please let me know how it went and where you got the alcantara!

Thanks

The g25 and g27 use real leather so the material isn't really cheap at all. If anything makes it feel cheap it is the thickness of the rim.

Here is a guide to covering a (BMW) rim with alcantara. IMHO it is more cost and effort than it is worth and you probably won't be happy with the end result. Go buy a momo and an adapter.

Its not very grippy, the leather. I would be a new wheel and an adapter but I feel that it would have more wear and tear of the motor.

Which is why only street cars use leather. Racing cars get very hot and the leather is even more slippery. It would be far more authentic to use rubber, or much better, whatever real racers use. They could advertise "just like the one Sebastian Vettel uses."
