Has the series ever inspired you to do anything? It's inspired me to draw cars, and to take up photography in real life because of the experience I've learned in game. Has anything you've found out, learned about, or experienced in the game ever helped you in the real world?

Here's an example of how the game has inspired me to try new things in two ways - Photographing a car in the game, then drawing it in real life. Of course, I made a different background. :P

I'm really interested in hearing your tales and stories :)

It has inspired me to buy an evo. I have always been obsessed with them and being able to drive them in the GT series has always had me hooked. Had my '07 Evo IX for three years and have never looked back.

P.S. nice pic

The GT Series(along with the original NFS games) is what got me into cars. It also taught me a thing or two about the Japanese car culture. As far as inspiration, not really. Okay maybe it inspired me to watch different kinds of motorsports(everything from Miata Cup all the way up to NASCAR and F1) but honestly thats all I can think of.

It got me into motorsports and watching them. Also learning more about car culture. I want to take up learning how to drive race cars, but I don't think that'll ever happen. I can still dream though. :p

I think the descriptions of the cars has made me look a little deeper into the cars themselves, mainly the racing cars etc kind of a motorsport historian

Yes, I found the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia in the UCD and bought it, loved its looks and have been doing research on the car for weeks, love its classical look and pretty much everything about it, so.. I'm buying one this summer for realsies.

yes my massive in box hot wheels collection and my countless car models... granturismo introduced me to cars ever since i was 5 id get 6 cars and race with em and build race tracks with my toy blocks .. and i draw them as well thanks to gt5 =D

The Whole Gran Turismo series (including the older NFS and Test Drive series) got me in depth with cars and their history ever since I was a kid. The knowledge gained from GT has increased my Hot Wheels, Matchbox and model cars with diverse machines from around the world and interest in other motorsports instead of NASCAR, and even made some of my friends when growing up falling in love with the Skyline GTR, Evos, STis, RUFs and numerous cars and some love playing the GT series from my mentioning about the game also.

Thanks to Gran Turismo and Forza (playing with friends) when it comes to tuning cars and doing projects with my cars. Turning them into rockets on the Test Course or quick and responsive in the tricky corners of the Nurburgring with the best time. Thanks to GT, I have found what I want to do in my life, tuning and building cars and trucks for the track, street and design bodykits. (Amuse S2K GT1 has given me hundreds of ideas for a bodykit design) Thanks GT! :)👍

Same here, this game since the days of the PS1,when the US only had a non turbo Impreza and no Evo :grumpy:, GT1 had me hooked with him and the STi, I would love to buy them both, but I'm looking into my WRX STi 2004-2007 :D!

Hey, you don't have to dream my friend. You can get into racing in small track days, just save some cash and buy either a Mazda Miata, Honda S2000 AP1, if you are thinking about drifting, the Nissan 240SX(180SX and 200SX) S13 or S14 and just buy some aftermarket parts and rebuild and design the car and head out to your local track. But do a lot of research and browse on many forums before you get sold on what car, parts and qualifcations you will need to have. I can't wait to start racing, espically drifting, and I heard a lot in magazines and online. Hope this helps!

I got my first fancy digital camera recently, and when I picked it up for the first time, I nearly knew how to use it. :D

I started with GT3 (was too young for knowing about GT1 & 2), the GT series has teached me heaps about cars and the signifiance of each of them, how cars are setup for racing, drifting etc, how to drive fast (find racing lines, how to improve laps) and most importantly having passion for cars, making them 'your own'.

I recently went karting with my father and brother (both GT lovers), we all topped the charts for fastest laps of the day, had a great one on one with my brother for about 5 laps, we are nearly exactly same pace on GT5 and that translated into real life, I got the fastest time of day, amazing day.

Remember that funny riding style you could choose in tourist trophy?
I tried that one time on my motorcycle.
Didn't work.

The gt series had inspired me to start racing irl. First chance I got, that means as soon as I turned 18, I went for a track day. Aaaand thanks to gt my instructor (I had him ride with me because it was my first time out) told me something I was happy to hear. HE CALLED ME A FEAKING PRODIGY!!!!!!!! Tra la la la I'm dancing with joy at the memory.
Gt changed my life. I loved playing every day, but one day I asked "how does it all work?". So now I am majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring other random things on top of learning everything I can in my spare time.
I wish there was a way I could tell Kaz this. I'm sure he would love to hear it. Aside from the whole tourist trophy dilemma lol

Same it got me into cars as well...I am also thinking of doing mechanical engineering and maybe even some racing.

The GT series has taught me to appreciate other classic cars other than muscle cars, and that every car has a history behind it, with many of them being very interesting.

I've always been into car racing but after buying TT many years back I got more interested in bikes.

If I explained every time that GT has inspired me, it would be an unreadable wall of text (which is against the rules of GTPlanet). So I think I'll just bow out of this conversation. After I tell you of one instance. It inspired me to model a Lamborghini Murcielago in full 3D on the computer. It was also a school project in drafting & design, but I spent countless hours outside class to create the best car I could. Needless to say, my drafting teacher ended up putting my final render up on the wall in the class room. I was like :D:tup:
