I was racing the quick match events today. I won four races in a row on Mount Panorama yet and it showed me in first yet just before it flashed over to the pay screen my name vanished from the leader board. Yt when the pay screen came up I was paid for 2nd place..
What was really stranger were two players that were in there racing with me were just over 12 seconds behind me going into the chicane. The one just as you start the drop from the top of the hill, when suddenly bang, they were in front of me. No pass, No freeze. they just teleported from behind to be in front.

Has anyone else had strange happenings today?

It sounds like lag to me. I have had experiences in the past where players in ended up in different positions on the leaderboard after crossing the finish line. This mostly happened at Daytona Speedway, which has been known to be very glitchy.

Had this last Sunday on different tracks. Also the start position was the same every time (with gaps in the grid).

And the same person won even when he was well behind when finishing the race. It happened like you described after finishing and when you see the leader board. Think is another glitch...

Still don't like the quick match events ("destruction derby") but it is easy money.

Didn't run QM's yesterday and likely won't today, but have ran all of them numerous times and seen my credits hit 50M time and time again - that is the good thing about the QM's!! Dirty racers, discon's, weire happenings of course is the bad thing. Now, before I say this GT6 racers and GTPlanet fans,, PLEEEEZE don't bash me for saying what I and many of my friends have seen ohh so many times. Did you happen to notice were there South American (SA) racers in the room? Believe me please, this issue is NOT the racers fault at all but since GT5 many of us have seen "issues" on more than just a few occasions when a SA racer is in the room. We see issues with lag, we see any sort of weird happenings and often times I (and others) have been dumped from the race when a SA racer joins. No,, this is not always the case and it is VERY possible our own ISP is having connectivity issues that cause the problems. Whether or not there's an issue with the SA ISP or our own who knows however that issue you saw is unfortunately quite common - - ESPECIALLY when in the QM races. Consensus is there are so many racers from so many different locations hitting the PSN their servers simply cannot keep up. So,, bottom line many of us feel is enjoy the races you are able to join, enjoy the FAST credits when you can get them and don't let the dirty guys get to you. Just do the best you can, accept the HUGE pay outs and jump out when you either loose your temper, or don't need the credits. Occasionally you'll get lucky and be in a QM where all the racers drive clean and those are fun, extremely competitive and a real hoot!

Yes on all counts and my buddy and I were wondering as it only seemed to happen then. I hear you about the dirty racing. Man I will never wrap my head around that. The same way that some caplable of winning by driving fairly can't seem to help themselves and run every short cut there is. Today I actually did a race that way to show them that's the only way they can win. Then I ran my usual way (staying on track) and beat them. They don't seem to get it that it's faster staying on the track. Then I was ashamed of myself for doing it. I wish they would put more safe guards in place like well placed walls and fix that damn penalty system. Does Playstation Plus make the racing better? Thanks for the advice.

Story of GTP, GT5, and GT6, isn't it?
PS3 can't handle it. :dunce: (PD)

It's all the PS3's fault... Sorry I couldn't help myself.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you partner but No, PS+ doesn't do anything to change what's going on in the game. We do get PS Store updates - but I think everyone does - and we get to utilize the PS auto save function (that was a life saver when my system crashed the other day!!) and use their cloud storage. Other than that I really don't see much advantage to PLUS.
As for the QM, just enjoy banking the credits and don't fret too much about the dirty guys (n gals). Do that and you'll soon find your garage FULL 👍👍 of every 20M, 15M and 10M car available and be searching for something to spend your 50M on  so YES, IMHO tolerating the sometimes tough times getting in, enduring the frustrations with the disconnects, and ignoring the dirty racers to run the QM's can be fun and I believe is worth it :gtpflag:.

dirty racers are in my blue eyes just bad loosers

I think the title of this thread is very misleading. GT6 has been hacked a long time ago and has nothing to do with what the OP experienced, which has more to do with lag/bad connections than anything else.

Never meant to mislead anyone :) It was working fine for me the first week of online racing so that's why I asked. I have since learned a lot about the lag and other issues. I now know that the person that hits you may not even be aware you're on the track. A buddy and I had that happen today. I could see him but he could not see me. If he bumped me I felt it but he didn't. Yet if I hit him his car moved on my screen but not on his. There will be zero rataliation from me from this point on. I will be racing the track from this point forward.

Thanks Daduce1947 for the heads up on the Plus package.

I understand and its probably more my fault for assuming everyone is as knowledgeable as me and some other people on these matters and for that I apologize if I came off a bit gruff. There was a time when, like you, I had no idea about any of this stuff. But when, in GT5, hacking became more prevalent, it interested me and through the help of a few of the more knowledgeable people than myself at the time, I learned a lot. I also read a bunch, experimented myself, and essentially, became a hacker myself. Now I can do things within the game, hacking wise, that not a lot of people know about, or how to do. However, I have never nor would I, use my knowledge to cheat in any competitions. I do what I do offline where it doesn't affect anyone else. At any rate, I apologize for coming off a little harsh, no harm meant. Glad you are getting a better understanding of how these things work.

No harm no foul. This online stuff is all new to me for GT6. Never bothered in the past but was told it was a great way to make fast money. Met some really nice people too. Thanks.
