On one race I was driving with my Ruf CTR2 on Midfield and it was a three lap race, well i was racing and i was winning not by a lot but by about 20 seconds or so.

Anyways so i come to the last lap and the last turn and i decide to push the emergency brake for no reason and I end up losing all control and slide into the wall and eveyrthing. So the other races catch up to me and pass me but my car had supiror Acceleration compared to theirs and i catch up and I lose to the First place car by 0.000!!! Im not joking I saved the replay cuz it was soo freaking crazy!!

Has that ever happened to any of you?? losing by 0.000 seconds?
 
well im not sure exactly how far ahead i was i need to rewatch it but tomorrow ill see if i can borrow my sisters digital camera and take a picture of it and post it on here.
 
I agree, it's funny when you see it for the first time. :) It happened to me on an Arcade race on Test Course with the Panoz. I planned to take leader's sleapstream and overtake him just before the S/F line, but we finished at 0.000. :P

It also happened on a licence test on GT2 with the GT-One Race '98. I won the the silver cup...
 
If you use Arwin's Replay Manager on the replay (obviously, you need to use a Sharkport/XPort to get it onto your PC) you can check the time, and will see that the game actually records times down into the .000001 seconds (µseconds).

You probably actually lost by something less than .001 seconds, but that's below the game display threshold...
 
happen between me and a friend... that was the best race i ever had... two rx-7 Rz's on trial mountain, you wouldnt believ how close it was....
 
I got that too at the TC. Was driving an Integra against a Skyline. He pitted and was catching me back up. He got in front of me at the last corner and I tried to use the slipstream to get back at him. Failed by 0.000 seconds.

I think I won a gold rating on a license test with the exact time to do it in. Odd that it wont give it to you in a race.

My brother and I raced two TVR Speed 12s around the test course and he won by 0.001. :eek:

Speed 12's without ASM and TCS on Complex String or Special Stage Route 11 I & II. Great fun.

No, and i'm happy it didn't, I would trip all over the place.
Where's the replay?
 
Closest i ever got was in GT2 i went over the line dead even with the AI about halfway through the race, then i just kept going and flogged them by about 10 seconds. Ive never got a dead heat at the end of a race though bout the closest i ever had was that i won by .005 seconds on test course in a slower car to what my opponents used.
 
In an iLink game, using Toyota SuperAutoBacs MR-Ss for 2 laps around Complex String, daan beat me by 0.002s.
 
The shortest I've ever won by was 0.020 seconds, at a touring car race at Midfield raceway, but in that race the first 4 cars were separated by only 0.088 seconds.
 
This happened to me while trying for gold on S-7 with the Viper, I got the same lap time twice in a row. The strange thing was that one was done using manual and the other auto.

That must have been the best race ever ever. (And not just because I won it.)

We went into the 90 degree corners on lap 2 (of 3) with me in 1st and Famine in 4th. We came out of the corners with Famine in the lead, and me in 4th. And the other 2 in the middle swapped places too. All passes were clean.
 
Yes, that has happened to me, also, weird, I spun around and went through the finish line exactly backwards, ( no angle ) and it finished me in 6th place, even though I lapped that bastards

Yes, that race was awesome (even though I didn't win). There's got to be a repeat performance... :D
