Sorry if this has been posted before but I booted up GT5 today and none of my cars in my garage are visible but some random cars like my nsx type r 02
looks stock.

When I open the the car it shows the form i have it in (custom rims, custom paint, aero parts, etc.
 
Cursor over the cars without a thumbnail image, or with outdated thumbnail images and press triangle. Then chose "create thumbnail" from the menu :)

It's quite a lengthy process if you have a lot of cars with fudged up images... but there's not many other options.
