Hello,
I was just browsing youtube videos when I saw these joyriders who had stolen this mx5
This video got me so mad. I ran the registration through a database and it had come up being a red mx5 but I couldn't see if it was still stolen or anything. Found out the guy had got his car back but in an absolute wreck.

Was just wondering, have you ever gotten your car/bike stolen and if so did you ever get it back?

Yes, and coincidentally it was also an MX5. This is how it ended up:

Wasn't best pleased, as you can imagine.

I certainly hope my car hasn't been stolen. If it has then I've never noticed. I have had someone try to break in (they were about to commit the act when I walked outside, they got startled and walked off) and had someone try to slash the front right tire (found knife cuts one morning on the tire wall around the letters. Didn't pierce the tire but I still got the tire replaced to be on the safe side).

I dont own a car but my bike was stolen yesterday. Then i found it late at night by a football field so i just rode it back home.
I hate the feeling in your gut when something like thag gets stolen

I have a couple of times, pleasures of living in Sydney. One time, I was in Red Rooster ordering food and the car was stolen from the carpark, and it was the only car IN the carpark. Joke was on them though, the car barely moved 20km before it died, it was such a 🤬 box.

Luckly I don't live in a country with high GTA.
But surely is seriously uncool, and is not punished enough.
And what is it with Ireland, always and exclusivly hear things like that
But if this was legal it would be so awesome. Or the one in james bond (didn't found the clip)

Sry but watch it 80's classic

Also this would even be awesomer, because , well see for yourself, it could do much more:

This was legal in South Africa to stop carjackers, don't know if it still is though....

Would you like your criminal extra crispy?? :D

That trunk monkey is classic :)

I haven't had my car stolen, but the people who live down the road from my house had there Mercedes stolen last year. It was found burnt out just outside of Oxford UK after being used in multiple smash and grabs.

In Barcelona, Spain someone tried to force the door of my sisters car while we were at the zoo (they did not get in). At work in Brussels someone opened my leasing car, probably to steal the papers (they did not find them).

And it is true that Luxembourg seems very low on this kind of crime, you find quite expensive cars parked on the street, since garages are so expensive.

Quite a funny story regarding my old Mini Cooper, I would park it by the garage and on several occasions I was woken at 2am being told my car had been lifted and moved into the middle of the road! Not amusing getting up in middle of the night to park it again or the fact someone could have hit it (house is on a corner) but funny that it nearly came to the stage of me having to bike lock car to garage!!!

My father had a friend who had an old mini clubman 1275 so while the owner went to work my father and a few of his friends picked it up and just turned it onto the roof and left it like that :) There was no dents so the owner was cool about it :)

I've had nearly all of a full tank of gas siphoned (installed a anti-siphon the next weekend) and my car cover stolen (seriously, wtf?). My locks are old and easy to bypass, and the only other safety measure I have is a brake lock. Honestly though, I think that my biggest defense from a thief is the fact that I live in the Silicon Valley and nobody knows how to drive a stick-shift :p

My Dad drives a 1998 Ford Fiesta, it isn't insured, has no MOT and is in a bad state..

He just dumps it outside, often with the doors unlocked or open..

He says he doesn't care if it gets stolen, and won't even call the police..

My PS3 stole my RUF CTR Yellowbird :(

On a more serious note, my dad's Bajaj Pulsar 150 has it's fuel siphoned on an almost weekly basis. It has gone to the point where he's considering a custom-made metal pipe to replace the current fuel line.

GTA needs to be punished more heftily, especially when the stolen vehicle is damaged or destroyed

I had my 1983 BMW 635CSi stolen about £4500 into restoring it. Never saw it again. Wasn't insured, lost all the money.

Nobody touches ugly.

The best car is one you can leave unlocked with the keys in it and not worry.

I never had my car stolen but my friend had this old GMC pickup truck that had a swhich to turn off the fuel pump and other in which you had to hold when you start it. One night a few years ago it was he greasy someone breaking in the truck and the person can't start it so he rolled it down the driveway and the guy left in in the middle of the street and run off. Best anti-theft system ever.

I've never had my car stolen(thank you God) but it has been broken into. They were only able to get my shift knob because they didn't know how to start my car. Tee hee :D

I think he should hide out near a bush, shoot a flame thrower while the perp has fuel in his mouth.

When I had the Blazer it was broken into twice. The first time they nicked my stereo equipment, Xmas presents, and did a ton of interior damage. The second time they tried to steal it but either they were too stupid to figure it out or something scared them, all I had was a little dent in the door, a broken lock and a dismantles ignition switch...it was annoying more than anything.

I don't think you could steal my current car or the one I owned previous due to the way their keys are. You should still steal a lot of stuff out of it though.

yea i had a 95 eg coupe purple with black front stolen right from in front of my apartment when i lived in Florida... car had full suspension front lip all new front end parts... even the the doors were new. had a swap too... woke up and the car was gone.... worst day of my life

Your story sounds quite like mine. Before my Bonneville became mine (it originally belonged to my mom), it was also broken into twice, exactly one year apart to the day. The first time the dash was disassembled and the stereo head unit yanked out, smashed, and left on the seat along with the tools they used to yank the thing out! Did the police want these implements? No! I mean, WTF?? They didn't even take anything else, including the small change lying out in the open. Just a simple smash & run.

Then, exactly one year after that (Thanksgiving Sunday, no less), it was broken into again. They left the radio intact this time, but stole my mom's iPod. It's been garaged nightly ever since - it's a shame you just can't trust people these days. There's a BMW up the road that is always garaged, as well as my mom'd replacement car, a Cadillac CTS.

After the car became mine, someone also stole exactly two valve stem caps off my front tires - no more, no less. Confused the 🤬 out of me since I only paid $2 for all four at Wal-Mart - are these people THAT poor? Oh well, I suppose it beats having to get a new radio... or a whole new car.

My parents had multiple instances of having their car stolen/broken into back when they lived in Manhattan. Many great stories to tell.

Had my bike stolen at school not to long ago. Thankfully they just started to ride off with it so I caught up to him and threw him off. Got my bike back!
