I have noticed a few threads complaining about the lack of variety with the seasonal events.
So I got to thinking, what if someone chose a weekly event with certain restrictions for GTPlanet members to compete against each other in?

Well here it is, Hatfield's Seasonal Events.

Each week I'll post the new event at the end of the first post and give restrictions and a deadline to PM me your result and screenshots. Then after the deadline, leader boards will be posted.

What does everybody think? If this thread gets enough interest I'll post the first event in the next few days.

Don't hesitate to come up with your own event ideas if you like and maybe they will be included in future weeks.
Edit:

EVENT #1: Humble Beginnings 9/2/12

Track: High Speed Ring
HP: Max 297
Weight: Min 900Kg
Feature Restriction: Road Car From 1997
Mode: GT Mode Practice
No Tuning, Aid, or other setting restrictions.

Each member can send only one PM to myself with a screenshot of their lap time.

Deadline is 16/2. & Leaderboard will be posted on 17/2
I'll give points for top 10 and bonus points to the member with the closest time to my own (my time will be posted but I will not score points)

Good Luck All!!

Sounds good 👍

Don't they do that in the Tuning Section.:)

Maybe some new ones tonight. :sly:

Sound like good fun to me:) a lot of work for you to do but I hope you will get thru with this anyway:tup:

Hells yes!

I´ll be up for that thats for sure 👍👍

Sorry to disappoint you but there's already such events, officialy held by GTplanet, GTP Weekly Race Series Time Trials and GTP Weekly Race Series Online Events.

And (many) many others you can find on the Calendar.

Although, new events are always welcome.

Those events seem to all be time trial, arcade mode, one car. I was thinking different modes, different cars, different events and restrictions. Example:

Track: *track selection*
Max PP: *123*
Max HP: *123*
Feature Restriction: *certain feature that car must have*

Sorry to disappoint you again but you are proposing nothing new. There's tons of such events here in the forum.

Although, as I said before, we can't get enough!! 👍

Just one question...how are you going to control the race requirements only by their lap screenshots? That way is impossible to verify weight, power, tuning (??) and all the aids...

Edit: IMO since this is an non-official online competion it should be moved to the right section.

Its a non-official offline series of seasonal events

Ok...whatever.

But can you please answer my question, "how are you going to control the race requirements only by their lap screenshots? That way is impossible to verify weight, power, tuning (??) and all the aids..."

I'm not sure. I guess I see the good in people not to cheat since there is no prize. I thought people would want to challenge themselves. How would you verify things?

You should get familiarized with GTP Weekly Race Series Time Trials rules HERE and HERE. They have the things well organized so you can take their example.
