Have cars been lost when gifting?

I just sent a gift for a trade but I guess it didn't show up. It was sent about an hour ago. I checked under community and the log show's no gift was opened so I assume its really not showing up. And of course the recipient also says he's received no gifts. Has this been happening or does anyone know what might be wrong? This is an expensive car and i don't want to loose it.

The guys seems like a very stand up guy so I doubt he's screwing me. :)

I know I've lost parts in translation but never the whole car 👎

not in my experience. Check his log and see if he has received your car.
 
A lot of cars would go missing in early December I remember.

Don't think so nowdays. All my dupes arrive OK lately:sly:
 
I haven't lost any, although the server actually sent me TWO of one car when I was only sent one. O_O
 
I had one that took an age to appear!
the wierd thing was I could see the gift was sent by logging into my homepage at gran turismo . com It just took a long time before I could see the gift in the game itself and receive it.
 
Oh, i also had a gift that stealthed its way into my inbox. My community tab had no star on it, nor did it play the notification sound. I was going to community to check my message board, and I see a "1" next to gifts. I was like "WTF?"

I just found something out. When you see a gift in your inbox, what you see is stored on the gamesave, so you can receive a gift MULTIPLE times.

I just duped an R8 LMS Race car and it is STILL in my alternate account's gift box even after sending it back to me.
 
Sometimes it doesnt show up for a while. Try exit GTLife to GT5 main menu and then go back in and see if the star beside community shows up, if not try quit the game and reload.
 
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Much appreciated. I guess it sounds like it still hasn't shown up, been about 12 hours. I just don't understand why. I guess the person I was sending to was having a few issues connecting to the server for a short period, but after he got in there was nothing there, so I wonder if this had anything to do with it.

I did check the logs, and he didn't receive it. I also rechecked my garage and it wasn't there either.

As of now I have no idea what to think. :(
 
Check the car delivery. Someone gifted me a car once and I couldnt find it. I eventually just did another race because I gave up on it and I went into the car delivery to get my prize car and lo and behold there was the car that I had been given. It didn't even have a number by the delivery to tell me it was there. : /

I just signed back on a little bit ago and it was there. Havent signed on since last night. But i got it now. Thanks. GT5 really has some problems online. Nothing really major though
 
The online server kept kicking me off last night saying. Connection to server failed.
