Have Seasonal Events Made A-Spec Pointless?

More challenging races are more fun, and if the whole field is chasing you down it's even better. Seasonals sadly can't accomplish this because the AI isn't perfect yet and the whole field is sorted by performance from 1st to last so you can't really make the others catch the others in front of them. Sad truth, I know. :indiff:

I'm aware of this, & I agree with you. I thought I said as much at the end of my post, but maybe wasn't entirely clear.

The point I was trying to make there was that since PD disagrees with us and prefers "catch the rabbit" with only 1 or 2 "real" opponents who still drive like old ladies, then there's not much difference whether Seasonal or A-Spec.

They don't "try" harder, nor do they have better cars, so I see no benefit in having to pass the slow 6 cars on the first lap. Seasonals are cool because they're something different/more to do, and $$$. Once you have most of the cars you want they offer no special advantage over redoing A-Spec races.
 
I think PD purposely left the offline game scant as it is to goad us like cattle to their online racing formula that includes seasonals, OCD, playing against human opponents etc. In my opinion they spent most of those 5-6 years developing the online part of GT5 that's probably why the game is so unpolished etc. Why else would they not add races to ASpec nor give ASpec Seasonal Event type of monetary rewards. I mean it's not even close reward-wise between ASpec and Seasonals.

It would be nice if they could implement a way for the player to design their own racing series based around any track in the game or from the track editor. For example I'll pick Monza, allow the player to pick the number of laps/hours/parameters etc, then specify open to all cars or restrict car type e.g. LMP/GC cars and then finally let us name the series we create. Then give us a proper difficulty slider for the AI that will allow them to actually race lol. This would fix the monotony of ASpec since PD doesnt seem interested in offline gamer nor offline gaming anymore.
