I own a CSR Elite and play mostly FM4 on Xbox.

When I turn on my wheel to play I have to calibrate my CSR shifter almost everytime. I'd say 9/10. Is this normal? I thought calibration only needed to be done the first time.

If you switch off your xbox by holding the guide button on your wheel it loses the calibration. It his always annoyed me too until I found out about this.

Now I just switch the wheel off then turn the Xbox off on the main unit. I also switch the Xbox on this way, not sure if this also loses the calibration though.

That's how I turn off my xbox and I never lose calibration, maybe it has to do with firmware (I use 750b on regular CSR wheel). What firmware are you using?

I'm still on 706 - I wasn't convinced by the changes in 750b so went back. That's good if they've got it fixed in future firmware tho - what version are you on OP?

I have never had a problem with shifter calibration on my CSR Elite. Not with the shipping firmware (706) and not with version 721b, which I'm running now, and am happy with so I haven't bothered to upgrade to 750b. Also I turn off my Xbox 360 using the wheel and don't have issues.

How to check your CSR wheel's firmware and verify firmware successful installation:

Power up the wheel, let the wheel rotate completely in one direction, and wait for the wheel to rotate back in the opposite direction.

Press buttons A and B, and while keeping them pressed down, simultaneously press down the two lower red buttons. Order...A, then B, then the two reds simultaneously.

The firmware version will briefly be displayed followed by ON or OFF.
ON = Internal fans constantly on.
OFF = Internal fans are temperature controlled.

Repeat the process to shift fans between ON and OFF.

here is a link to download the latest firmware. Instructions are in the download just read the pdf.
