I must say wikipedia is a little miracle. It's premise seems ideal to fall prey to vandalism and misinformation but many times its content is as academic as it gets. A working example of democracy.

Here I list my fair share.

- "Hal" is a tribute to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- The railgun is a miniature version of Metal Gear Rex's.
- At the end of the game it is revealed that Solid Snake's real name is David chosen by Kojima as a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- The names of Jack and Rose as well as the setting of the first chapter at the tanker that sinks are a wink to Titanic.
- A character named Chinaman, originally planned to be included as a villain, was later on omitted and his abilities incorporated in Vamp. Namely the ability to walk on water and walls. Chinaman would have movements modeled after Jet Li and have a body tattoo of a dragon that would come alive as soon as he dove into water.
- Howard Shore, "Prologue" accompanying the opening sequence of LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring film.
- A clear demonstration of the mode can be heard at the beginning of the song In the Evening by Led Zeppelin.

I must say for the last sentence I did not provide a source as I did not find one but I know it's true. Besides challengers can hear it for themselves.

What are your contributions?

I'd be more inclined to be a Wiki-editor if I knew my contributions weren't about to be potentially undone every second of every day by some n00b's uncontributions!

Thus, I will never make a good Wikipedia editor!:sly:

I've never been able to contribute. Wikipedia blocked anyone from editing articles at our school. They blocked the IP address after someone edited a article about George W. Bush and called him a 'worthless mother 🤬 🤬, who should go in a corner, 🤬 himself and drink his 🤬.'

Only that the little blurb about the '85-'88 Chevrolet Nova is an AE82 platform car. That's it.

Hehehe!:sly: But seriosuly, Wikipedia can just rack, stack, and ban any IP address it sees fit to. I never knew that... they should exercise that option more frequently!👍

Same as BobK and Noob616. I corrected some terrible grammar in a Renault Clio article, if I recall correctly.

Then why is the uploader listed as Famine?
He took the pictures, I made it a gif for him and he submitted it. ;)

Or Famine has two accounts and refers to himself in the third person.

The closest I've been to editing a Wiki page is that I was stood standing next to him when he was taking the pictures.

Everyone needs a wingman.

Well, not us married guys anymore, huh...?

I added this:
White_Nerdy_YOU_SUCK_cropped.jpg

Can you guess where that's from?

It's the Falkirk Wheel in Scotland, so the pictures must have been taken... in Scotland. :p

I remember going to see it when I was 5 years old, I thought it was a giant slow-rotating helicopter flipped on it's side:lol:

Btw: I'm guessing you, daan, and Famine are all from Scotland?:D

Sorry for the off-topicness:scared:

Been there twice. First time they were carrying out maintenance and the second time the lovely Scottish weather prevented me from getting any decent pictures.

I mainly do F1 related edits, not much else. I did once get told off for saying my mum became prime minister in 1942. :D
