It is 172 laps and the best time I got on a lap was 1.59.---therefore making it a 6hr.+ race, for me, if you can do it any sooner let me know. By taking time to rest and eat and other things people have to do it became a long almost 12 hrs. of trying to finish the race. I gold it by 2 laps which is a lot, don't you think? Won a Nissan race car and little money. Now we need a save, a real save, not one that saves off the race and you have to shut down the game. I would like a save where you save your work and are able to continue to play at the time of the save. Does anybody think this may come about!!!! I still have a 9hrs and two 24hrs to do, not sure how I am going to handle that!!:yuck:

Be thankful you didn't have a rain race running a ZR1 RM. That was excruciatingly painful, but I did it.

It took my bob 9 hours in the rain with an x1
i hate his slow conservative driving style >.<

Did it about 5.5 hours with a friend in an x1 and there was rain for 90% of the race :ouch:

Little over 6.5 hours in a camaro ss 10 rkm tuned.
172 laps of rain.
Best lap 1:53 with racing softs. 2:09 with wets.
Softs were a seven lap pit. Wets were 20.

Won it by 8 seconds. Had a 45 second lead on the corner before the final chicane but misjudged my fuel and crept over the line at 50 mph with ny fingers crossed ;)

I did it in about 6 hours (A-spec) running a detuned ZR-1 RM. Finished two laps ahead and it rained up until lap 70-ish. Also ran out of fuel on the last lap and cruised past the finish line.

I hear there is a glitch on that track to do 15 second laps...

15*172=43 minutes + break in time and pit stops.

Yeah thats good and all but i actually like driving. That is why i bought this game afterall

When i did it im pretty sure my average laps in the X1 were about 1:12, it took me a little longer than 4 hours if i remember.

I did it a long time ago and I think I used the Xanavi '06 for a total time of around 5:50...I started the 1st time, with high hopes, in a fully tuned Suzuki GSX R/4...It pelted rain for about 2hrs and I built up a 1.5 lap lead and then the rain stopped...Well reality came crashing down and I was quickly caught and out muscled. Had it rained the whole time I would've liked my chances.

ps-Also a big thumbs up to Caz for his post above...

I used a Group C car and did it in just over 5:45h. I was like 10 laps up. Just needed to pit like every 11 laps.

I did it in 1 hour 12 minutes at an average of 25 second laps  my best lap was 11.8 seconds.

Honestly, its more fun actually racing for 5+ hours than 1 hour of doing circles underneath the track.

Thanks ;)
That gsx4 is a fun car to drive. Wish it had cockpit view.

This was actually a pretty fun race running RS in the rain with RKM deathscythe camaro 10. The short pit strategy kept it a race. Adding just enough fuel to run those 6-8 laps.
Powersliding flat out in a downpour really smashed those tires. If the rain let up at all i would have been ferqed.

I've seen the glitch - how do you pit when under the track? Or do you have to break back out again?

PS I used the X2010, it never rained and took seconds under 4 hours.

I did it in B-Spec in a fully tuned Gallardo in over 6:30, it rained for half the race. And it's not as easy a win as you might think at first for your Bob's.

To all you B - speccers, I suspect the OP was talking about A spec ("Have you run the Suuka 1000km Endurance Race?")

Just saying, is all.

Yes, in a classic Mobil NSX. It was a fair while ago, but from memory it was a pretty easy win with a few splashes of rain. I honestly don't understand why anyone would bother with the glitch. Granted- it makes the race faster etc. but realisticly the 4-7 hours it would have taken otherwise is only one day out of one weekend out of one year.

To each their own i guess, but i only have 24 hours of the 'ring in both spec's stopping me from platinum without any of those "underhanded" tricks. Granted, i've had the game from release but i've enjoyed (nearly) every lap. The challenge is what makes Gran Turismo... well Gran Turismo and i wouldn't glitch if my phat PS3 depended on it...

Yeah, you have to pit around every 40 laps if you're careful. If using the glitch, its pretty easy to get reset to the track to pit. Resetting, pitting, and breaking back out takes under 3 minutes.

Never gonna do Suzuka 1000 with the glitch again. Its very boring.

I'm on lap 88 now and still raining. Driving the Toyota Castrol TOM'S SUPRA '97. Lead by 8 laps, but hope to get some sunshine soon.
Laps around 2:14 with Rain tyres. Hope to get the Soft's on..

I had to do it in the X2010 because I didn't want my PS3 to be on the entire night just so that I can continue the next day. Really wanted to do it in my Mazda RX8 race car concept, a bit de-tuned, but that's going to have to wait until I am really really bored or the mid-race save is available for use :)

Throw softs on for a pit cycle. You may find it faster pitting more with faster laps on RS. I did for sure.

I'm doing it with a 908 HDi, 4 hours in 122 laps, not a single drop of rain. When I started, it was raining, but i followed an advice I saw here and I restarted until the weather was sunny. I'm using Racing Soft tyres with TCS on 5, and I go to pit each 10 laps.

took me almost four hours in an x1 average 1:10. Soft tires, lots o downforce not full, like 30 of the top. I did the tsukuba 9 hour in that ****in thing in 5 and change. after that no more with the x1.
