It is a huge improvement over the past versions. Not only they made a new face lift but the sound is kinda different , the bass when adjusted no longer sounds distorted. It looks pretty cool. Bad thing is weak systems (like mine) would put it a little bit sluggish...

Whats the difference between realplayer and real one player?
I used to use real player for about a week before i discovered Winamp version 2.xx

Winamp 2.80! well its better than Winamp3 :yuck:

You have to pay to use Real One. First for the player itself and then any content you want to see with it. It also looks like a pasty white Windows Media Player skin with useless garbage that hogs up half of the player's window.

I agree with you on Winamp3. It still crashes when I use a 3rd party skin, I can't use my version 2 AVS's or plugins, huge memory footprint (bigger than IE6), and it crashes randomly. It makes you wonder what Nullsoft has been doing for the past year. Playing with llamas, I guess...

My home comp is only a P2 266mhz (infact its a P2 350mhz but the motherboard thinks differently) so I have to make sure that I minimise on stuff running in the background. Winamp 2.80 processor usage only playing mp3 is about 7% then winamp3 is about 70%, mind you it helps that I have 512mb ram or my comp would be pretty much useless with win2k anyway.

Oh yeah it said you can install the old 2.xx plugins, but I had no idea where you put them.

Oh I see, after I downloaded winamp3 I havent visited winamp.com I wonder why?

Well at least they have some sense by continuing to update winamp 2.xx
