Having problem with making a thread with a poll

I was trying to make a thread in the rumble strip with a poll that had 3 choices but when I select to include the poll it never gives me the option to actually create the poll. I have made them once or twice before with no problem, am I doing something wrong or is this a site hiccup?

I think you make the thread and when you press submit post or something like that it then comes up asking you for pole options. Something like that anyway, it is on some second page I think, been a while since I have made one.

EDIT: Yeah, I just checked and you submit the thread and then put in the poll options. Make sure you have the box ticked for a poll though.

Ah ok, I had selected the box and set how many for the poll and nothing was happening. Didn't realize you actually had to submit and then it would pop up, that's odd....

Yea, you gotta submit first. Almost feels like you'll never get the option to put the poll up. But you submit, and then the option shows up. I think they do it that way because otherwise you woudln't be able to vote on your own poll? Not sure.

I think vBulletin designed it that way because it allows them to re-use the "Create New Poll" page. Unfortunately, this isn't really explained well from the thread composition menu.

I also noticed that the thread is already opened when you advance to creating the poll, so given you need a couple of minutes to finish the poll options and settings, people will already be able to see your thread and reply in it. That happened to me one time. I was talking about a poll in the opening post which was not there yet, and someone asked what the hell I was on about.
