I tried to download the bioshock demo the other day. When I clicked play after the game had downloaded the screen just went black, so I would do the whole control alt delete thing and it would send me to a white screen with a box saying something like "bioshock exe has stopped working". I re downloaded and the same thing happened again.
So I thought I would try a different demo. I downloaded the HAWX demo, clicked play and all it did was take me to the HAWX page in the steam store, it wouldn't launch.
So I just downloaded the ridge racer unbounded demo to see if it was just because the other demos were old. This time, after clicking play, the 'preparing to launch game' box appears for 1 second then disappears. Nothing else happens. If I click them in quick succession, after the second click it will say that the application is running so it can't open it. But if I leave it 5 seconds between pressing the play button, it doesn't say it, instead it does what I said before where it refuses to open.
The weird thing is that before I did my windows re-install, I had just cause 2 working fine. I haven't gotten around to testing it with JC2 because I would have to re-install it and that's a matter of about 6 hours because of my terrible internet.
I want to start buying games from steam, but not if it does this. Whats wrong with it?
