Ok. So, he just drove Amateur League Tourist Trophy yesterday. He said he drived the last race for the whole evening. I asked if he had modified any springs or so, he hadn't. I then said, that modifying those would have helped him to win the cup easier
( Somehow I feel he's showing off, he's driven more races and enduros than me. But he's a novice goddammit! This is his first GT series game, and he thinks he's better than me. HE'S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO S-License! And I've driven some licenses to him. Damn it pisses me off. I have 3 years experience of GT-games. GT, GT2 and GT3 are just right to me leaning against that PS2. )

Ok, my point is: U can win races easily if modifying settings etc.

Second point: Could u tell me good settings for TT? I've tried to make the settings good, hard springs, soft tires etc.

Thanks yoooos! :)

Fine-tuning is an essential part in racing. Your friend must be a little simple-minded.

Well, I personally don't mess with suspension settings that much on my cars. I usually add some horsepower, full suspension, and full racing tranny, but I still don't bother the suspension settings if I can help it. I try to drive conservative enough to manage the car properly.

I did have to change my settings a good bit to keep a Griffith 500 going in a straight line, but that is about it. I do transmission settings fairly easily, but that is about it.

Just prove your skills by better times, better handling cars, and try to get him to use one of his cars against a similar car in your garage in a two-player battle. That should prove something to him. Good luck!! :burnout:

What !!! Mr Kirk I think I speak for others when I say that you MUST play with yer suspension - Thats why you can actually change it, or they wouldnt have bothered putting the changeable suspension in there !!!

I never play with any of the settings, and win just about every race i do.

When I buy the full custom suspension, whatever settings it says, I leave it at that. Same goes for the full custom transmission. I will adjust gears wide/short for the race if I choose to.

Just like Mustang Man said, I don't bother the settings much at all, and I am successful with handling the car to a win!!

That's probably because you spend too much time at the turbo shop...

For me, it really depends on the car. But, I don't get into much of the more advanced stuff...

For the life of me, I don't know what a spring rate is, and where I'd want to adjust it to, so I leave that one. I might lower a car, (not 'cause I know what the point of it is, but just uhh... because) and I'll normally lower the shock bound. Now, I'm not too sure why I'd want to raise or lower the bound settings either, but if you read the text for the shock rebound, it says that the rebound should be 2 - 3x higher than the bound settings.

I've started goofin' with the Toe settings, 'cause, from what I understand a negative rear toe will help you get more oversteer (which is more predictable than understeer).

Ummm... Oh, ya... stabalizers I crank up to 7. Again, I don't know what it does, and I can't tell the difference between a 3 (default) or a 7, but if I understand it, it should help limit the body roll, which I figure would be a good thing.

Yes, and there is nothing wrong with spending time in the turbo shop, even if it only lasts about 10 seconds... :rotfl:

Yes, how cute the little finger-pointing game is beginning.... Let's not go too far with this one.

Driving an unmodified car will defineatly teach you to corner better but that doesn't mean there's nothing to be gained by learning to tune your car. Everything in this game teaches you something about cars that you can use. Beating the AI is one thing but going against a skilled opponent is another.

Whatever suits YOUR driving style is cool. But I must agree with Tom McDonnell. If your buddy feels that he is better than you at GT 3. Have him over. Then race him and settle it like Gentlemen. If he kicks you to the curb, adjust to it. accept it. Then get to practicing and remedy the situation:D

It sounds like either:

a) You get PO'd too easily, or
b) You need to evaluate who you choose as friends

btw, please be considerate to n00bs... also, I have won most of my races without modding the suspension... I agree that changing the settings greatly enhances the car (for example, the ZZII stock is a good car, but with the settings I found on GameFAQs, it's one but-kicking monkey!); however, I find that in most races it's unnecessary if you have half-decent driving skillz (keep to the line, avoid breaking mid-turn, feather-throttling, etc. etc.).

bleah, sorry for rambling... it's almost time to eat..

brummmmmm *changes gear* brummmmmmmmmmm *changes gear* screachhhhhhhhhhhh *changes down* *brakes* cant stopppppppppp *handbrake* foot from the barrier.... i almost scratched the unscratchable paint....

I only add a turbocharger to the car if i want to modify it. (not for racing or anything, just for show.)

I rarely touch the suspension settings, as you get a pretty decent setup when you buy them anyway. As far as your Audi TT setup goes, the best setup is to forget about the car in my opinion. I hate it, even with a decent setup. Strange really as in real life I really wouldn't mind having a TT! :D

you have to be kiddin i adjust the suspension as it greatly enable the car to handle better and also you can get the back end to slide out!! or not! (viper and vertigo!) its more fun as you can get better traction and stability taking corners harder.

😈 😈

know who u feel lol, u complete all of them, then someone who cant even complete a licence say they are better than u...

Yeah i know what you mean they race one race usin a fully done up car to race a daihatsu? and they reckon they can beat owt. lol but if u don't drop it fully and tence the springs the cars motor!!!

😈 😈 😈
