I tried using LFA Nurburgring Edition '12, 15th Anniversary Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 '13 . Both of those cars spin out and slide around way to easily. I can't even break just before a turn without the car starting to turn sideways.
I tried fully tuning a Dodge Challenger R/T '70, the handling is good and all but I cant keep up with the rest of the pack, I think it has slow acceleration.
I am tempted to buy the Corvette ZR1 (C6) LM Race Car '09 and hope that it is a good investment.
What cars did you use for this race? What is a good car that wont slide all over the place like my previous 2 cars did.
I have the driving settings at default so there should be no problem there.

I think I used a LCC Rocket. - By this championship I was very used to the car and could get quite a lot out of it in the turns.

I recommend the ^ post as well. When you talk about driving settings at default, what do you mean by that? I usually keep it at TC 0 and ABS 1, everything else off. The Rocket is phenomenal at cornering, you lose a bit on the straights, but you eat seconds up on the corners. Lapped Bugattis, Enzos, Huayras with ease during the 10 lap races in the S Class.

Another good car that I use is the GTR Black, that car can be modified to specs of your liking, stripping it out and increasing power, it easily corners albeit with some understeer, but is also a beast on the straights.

I found that with any high torque car in a light body (most muscle cars when stripped down are like this) have super oversteer tendencies when you apply throttle out of a corner. Throttle control is important if you are thinking of going with the Vette.

If anything use the Rocket, the GTR Black, I liked the FXX, but that is a bit more expensive. The GTR and Rocket is 100k and the FXX is 2m respectively.

If you are having a lot of trouble with your car sliding out as you enter the corner odds are that you are driving a car that is heavy in the back. The easy remedy for this is to add a little ballast weight shifted to the front to bring the ratio to or near to 50:50 and the car will be tame in the corners

You could use the Red Bull X2014Jr which is a freebie if you have completed the Red Bull Challenge

It actually has a very low top speed. I'm pretty sure I used my 15th Anniversary Huayra for the competition.

yes i ran it once using the Huayra and then ran it again using the X2014, top speed is not great but grip is amazing and to do well you got to know the tracks and one way of learning them is use something underpowered on the straights but where you can cane it everywhere else to make up the deficit

It has its limits. I never used it on any races, but I'd guess you'd get smashed on the straights.
When I did the kart races I had to adjust the speed for each track. The other guys did too...judging by their straight speed so I guess the game expects it sometimes

Na, the 15th anivers Huayras stock transmission is good for 451 km/h.
I can confirm this(confirmed on SSR7). I would also warn against installing the dog-clutch if you're looking for top speed. It tops out at about 239mph or 384km/h

Hey lofty, any tips about LSD settings? I haven't messed with them yet. Do they help cornering?

The Nissan GT-R R35 is good enough for the fastest of races such as International A's "GT World Championship" , without the cost of the dedicated race cars. One of the best investments. Being 4WD and Japanese and Nissan it has grip and power beyond what you'd expect. As in GT5 it is almost a cheat.

I attempted the Nissan GT-R R35 in the Apricot Hill 20 minutes challenge.
On Racing Soft I made it to 2nd spot and trailing by 7-8 seconds at the end of lap 5, 7 minutes into the race, so far looking good. But the front right tyre was done for. It's a one-stop race for the opposition and I stopped the attempt. Some might do it. On Racing Hard the GT-R R35 is all over the place when attempting to keep up with the opposition.
