HD VGA Cable issues

I bought the HD VGA cables yesterday and I kinda have a problem. Everything is plugged in correctly, I set my res and "screen orientation" in the 360 menu to 1280x1024 "normal." My monitor is a 19" LCD (Dell 1905fp). When I play GRAW, it displays the game with the black bars on top and bottom (widescreen i presume) while in the menu and while playing the game, but in PGR3 it only does this for the menus. Is this some strange bug or am I just SOL when I play PGR3?

I have the cable. Many games run in native 16:9, like FFXI(what a shame). Dead or Alive 4 & Oblivion support 4:3. Though, it still nicer than TV.
 
Are you sure that is the correct resolution? If it is distorting the image it is trying to display it in a different resolution, and from your description it sounds like it is trying to display a widescreen resolution. Try some of the other resolution settings and see if anything changes.
 
It doesn't work. PGR3 doesn't nativly support true 720p (it's just upscaled 540p) so I'm thinking that's why because GRAW works perfectly fine.
