I've currently got a problem with my TV that has been bugging me for a while. I changed my TV a few months ago for a bigger one. The problem is that the HDMI of which the TV supports, looks terrible on the screen, every line looks rough and tacky and makes games less enjoyable. It also causes bad pixelation and tearing when looking in the distance on games like GT5. I have tried messing with the settings on my PS3 but I'm still rather clueless about it.

The TV I use is by LOGIK.

- This may have been covered before, please direct me if it has been.

What kind of HDMI cable to you use, with cheap ones you get what you pay for a real basic cable.

I had a this issue when i got my PS3 but my HDMI cable was free but it was junk, so i bought a good one that was $55 that supported 1.4

You can easily buy HDMI cables that supported HDMI 1.3 and sell for 22 cents and will work. I ordered three cables at that price and I have no problems. HDMI has a digital signal, there is nothing to worry about except for the standard it supports.

Have you tried changing your TV picture settings? I would try turning the sharpness right down to 0, turn Noise Reduction and Mpeg Noise Reduction off for a start.

Try a different cable if you can. There's minimal difference between one that costs £5 or £50.

Or, does your TV have another HDMI port? Try it in that one and see if it's any different before trying another cable.

If that doesn't work, it maybe picture settings like mentioned above. Turn sharpness to 0 or keep it low, and turn off any noise reduction / sharpness enhancing options. And make sure the TV is set to 16:9 screen mode, or Just Fit (or similar - some TVs don't have this).

What model is it?

I ask because unfortunately the Logik range does not have the greatest reputation in the world.

As has been said its unlikely the be the HDMI cable, as unless you are running extreme lengths (10m+) the image quality being digital will be unaffected.

The quality of the TV itself however can make a huge difference, and much as I hate to say it, that could be the case here.

I'm using one of the cables with the same end as you would get on a USB.

I'll try changing the cable and the settings, if that doesn't work I'll change my TV.
