Ok, going to buy my son a GOOD gaming headset for his Xbox but need some advice. I own a pair of Turtle Beach and love them. But since my son LOVES to listen to music while playing games, is there a headset out there that does both at the same time??...I was looking at some Trittons that seem to do it but the box didnt say "at the same time"...Any advice??

If its for Xbox, I think any can play at the same time. Unless your looking for a way that you dont have to use the music from your hard drive?

What TB's do you own, and what are you looking to spend? I've owned a couple of Trittons, Stopped at AX720's and I was in love with them for a while. I started getting really bad crackles(I tend to listen full blast all the time lol) so I used my warranty to get a new pair. Turned out that they were discontinued so I opted for Turtle Beach PX21's and right off the bat I noticed that they arent as loud as Trittons, but they do sound much much better.

I think Tritton just trys to full people into thinking its quality by just uping the volume of everything. I want to upgrade soon, and the Tritton Warheads look pretty nifty, but $250 is quite a big bite into my wallet lol.

To get back on topic though, I use Turtle Beach PX21's and I love them. They are perfect for games like COD, and even when I play racing games and what everything sounds great. So I would say it is a great mid level head set, and they are cheaper then the same level trittons that I had($110 compared to $130)

I cant remember what Turtle Beach's I have...They are not the highend wireless but the next thing down...great sound..only thing is after about an hour of them on my head I get alittle light headed from the sounds..I forgot to mention that I wanted the headsets to bypass the HD in the xbox. Something he can plug his Ipod into while he is playing/talking to his friends...Wanting to spend about $150

I have experience with headsets, thanks to my lovely cats, I have now a wireless Sennheiser. Absolutely perfect sound. I had Logitech, Skull Candy, a lot of random brands but Logitech and Sennheiser are pretty much the better ones. Skull Candy has a nice deep bass but got tired of that, especially with music it's a bit too much.. Logitech is just a good headset, good sound, doesn't brake easily and the mic is always good, my friends never had a problem hearing/understanding me. The Sennheiser however doesn't have a mic, but that sound, oh my.. I really really really advice you the Sennheiser if your boy loves music.

What you want, a Sennheiser with mic: (Only a little bit over your budget, it's $169,-..)
(It's made for gaming btw, console compatible)

If I'm ever in the need for a headset with mic, I'll be shopping at Sennheiser!

That is nice Carlos....Although I have never heard of the brand. But I still cant find that you can plug a Ipod into it and listen to music WHILE you are talking on Xbox Live..Or is the best way is to plug your music into the Xbox and listening that way. But if I remember correctly Ipods didnt play nice with Xbox's

I'm sorry Kat, I really don't know if that is possible. I never heard of listening to an iPod while chatting with friends on XBL, new to me. Sennheiser in Europe is one of the high end brands for headsets, I thought it was well known world wide :indifferent:

Yeah, I am having trouble grasping the concept of Online Play, Listening to music AND chatting with friends. Kids these days must be Multi-multi Taskers, LOL.

He can do that and hand me my ass in Team Deathmatch:banghead:

Maybe Im asking to much..Ill have to plug in my ipod to the Xbox to see if it works

Hey dude! You have a nice bonding with your son, especially on Xbox gaming and music too. I can recommend you from one of the Best Xbox Headset in town. And Check out the Top 20 Best Selling Xbox 360 Gaming Headsets of 2012. :):)

If I'm not mistaken he can:

1. Download music to the Xbox.
2. Then start the music from the dashboard.
3. Then start the game.
You both should be able to hear HIS music while he's kicking your butt

Yeah like browny said download music your xbox.

Sennheiser only do headphones and have been making some of the best in the industry for decades. I had an $100 pair back in the 80's that took a beating blasting metal for over 10 years. Awesome sound for less than $10 a year.

Ended up buying some Turtle Beach X32....They are "somewhat wireless".....You still are wired to the controler I believe..But wireless to the Xbox.....

If he has any touchscreen apple product with the app store he can stream his music library wirelessly to his xbox with a free app. The only down side is it pulls music from the music app so you cant use pandora or any other music streamer. And as far as I know, all "wireless" xbox headsets plug into the controller.

Carlos, does that Senheiser U320 plug into the controller only, or into the xBox? Thanks!

I'm sorry for the confusion but that's not my Sennheiser, I have a different one. I was only recommending this Sennheiser because I know Sennheiser is a good quality company and it was kinda what he was looking for.
