Heal and Toe

Ive done a search and nothing came up, if there is please direct me.

I read somewhere that one guy was driving using heal and toe and just wondered how was this possible without a clutch. Im using a DS2.
Anyone know if you can use this technique with this controller or a DFP?

It is possible to blip the throttle on downchange with a DS2 or a DFP (although if you use the DS2 you'll have to use the buttons for accelerator and/or brake so you can hit them both at the same time), but you don't need to in GT4 because there isn't the possibility of mis-shifting or locking the driven wheels due to incorrect rev-matching (AFAIK).

If you want to heel & toe with the DS2, use a manual gearbox and the square and x buttons for the brake and accelerator. When you're approaching a corner and need to slow down and downshift, get on the brakes. As you press L2 (or whatever button you use to downshift), quickly tap the x button to blip the throttle wilst keeping constant pressure on the brakes, then release the x button. That's about as close as you'll get to heel & toe'ing with GT4 and a DS2 I'd say.

Ah I get ya. So while the car is in "neutral" on the downshift you blip then. Il give it a shot and see if it makes any difference.

Did you use the correct spelling of "heel" in your search?

Its also totally pointless as GT4 blips the throttle for you on downshifts anyway.

The following post covers it as part of a test I did on compression/engine braking in GT4, the section on downshift throttle blips and how it recreates a perfect heel and toe downshift is towards the bottom.
