There's been an advert running on Scottish TV for the past couple of weeks for Health Scotland. The advert shows someone smoking heroin. It's routinely on before the watershed (infact it was just a few minutes ago, at 3:00pm). Does anyone else think that this kind of thing shouldn't be shown on TV before the watershed (if at all)?
I really don't see how showing this kind of advert in the afternoon when children could be watching is worthwhile or responsible. The caption for the advert is (paraphrasing) "Don't fool yourself, smoking heroin can turn you into a junkie", so presumably this advert is aimed at those people who currently smoke heroin or are thinking of doing so and believe it is less addictive than injecting it. I hardly see any need for this to be shown while children are watching.
