I wouldn't call it a cheap build, especially considering how much you dropped on the wheels.

Got my new oil cap in. It was made by a small company in L.A called Project G. If you are into Miatas, I'm sure you have heard of these people. They make a G-string type cloth roof similar to a Boxster Spyder for Miatas and a bunch of other cool stuff. The cap looks yellow, but it's actually gold. I really need to paint my valve cover haha.

I love this car, just don't put a V8 in it. Please. I also wouldn't call this a cheap build, with the (awesome looking) top costing 2 grand according to autokonexion, and I'm sure the Watanabes are pricey too, although I don't know how muck they are. Pretty similar to how I would build one, although I'd keep the original headlights- pop-ups are just so cool.

Thank you! No, I won't put a V8 in it lol. The Wat's were under 2k shipped, so not awful. I gained one mpg by switching to the flushmounts haha.

Picked up some 15x7 Panasports for the 94 Laguna. They are a little rough, but they hold air.

Got the bay cleaned up a bit too, almost ready for reassembly. Years of Georgia clay being removed.

This is what the engine bay looked like in my Miata before I sold it. When I had the engine out for the last time I resprayed the engine bay, re-wrapped all the wiring, powder coating, ceramic coating, and beat blasting galore.

I really like the custom Miata a lot. Especially the roof conversion, fender flares, and the wheels. The fastback conversion reminds me of when I converted my 67 Mustang coupe to a 67 fastback Mustang. Almost identical process. You are so lucky to get some road track time at Laguna Seca. One of my favorite tracks. Looking forward to this Miata build.

I like this pic a lot.

Thanks for the comments guys! Very clean engine bay R1600.

At least I didn't have to cut off an existing roof to bolt this one on. It just requires drilling two holes. :)

I picked up this 92 Momo Monte Carlo 320mm. Yes, it's white leather. The piece had never been installed before my car, it came brand new in the box. Feels great, but install was kind of a pain. The Momo hub adapter I bought isn't really Miata specific so it needed a bit of modification to make it work. The horn button was hand made by Club NA of Japan. It's a pretty rare piece.

Got an NRG 2.5 Quick release. Makes getting in and out much easier in addition to being a security device.

Few new parts came in this week. First is the wonderful Car Make Corn's three piece exhaust. Needs a good cleaning, but it should look and sound great when done.

Also picked up a hard to find bracket which allows me to retain AC when using a manual steering rack.

Got my new exhaust in that was made by Car Make Corn's. They are a little shop in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan. Also used a Top Speed brand resonated test pipe in place of the cat. It sounds great! Very unique smooth sound, no drone.
