You can post tuning/setting questions in the GT3 Settings Forum... however, before you do that, promise me one thing: That you'll use the "Search" function first, which can be found at the top-left corner of the website, under the rotating car logo. There is a very good chance that somebody has already posted asking for GT-1 settings, and there's no point in wasting bandwidth to ask a redundant question.

No such thing. ;) "Drifting", as used in today's lingo, is completely for show. In racing, there is almost no instance where breaking the traction from all four of your wheels will be beneficial-- two of your wheels, sometimes yes, but all four, almost never.

Well, y_c, you're right in the first of this statement. In fact, you're right in the second part, too - the mistake you're making is very common. The true 'four wheel drift' in racing terms doesn't involve breaking traction, and it is the fastest way through a corner. The difference between 'drift' as it was originally meant and 'drift' as it is used today is what's leading you astray.

'Four wheel drfift' means that all four wheels are slipping at a slight angle to the way they are pointed, due to cornering forces deforming the tires' contact patch. However, traction is maintained so the car is cornereing at the limit of adhesion. Once traction is lost, the car goes from slipping to sliding, and then you are correct, time (and sometimes control) are lost.

Four-wheel-drfiting can only be done in a car with mild understeer. Basically, the trick is to get the car turned in early, and get back on the gas so that the car crabs sideways while it turns shallowly. A great example of this is the demo for the S2 license test, where the GT40 comes down the hill at Seattle towards the right turn at the bottom. The car turns early, and it looks like he will clip the inside barrier. But hard throttle and the GT40's understeer mean that the car moves laterally as it apexes the corner, so it passes to the left of the inside wall.

Ditto! Hope this helped.

uhh yea, i was racin wit my trueno shigeno version with all mods cept NA/Turbo and stage 3 weight. I was racin on Deep Forest in the Pro FR series. Since i had no TCS or ASM, i would slip here and there. I seemed a bit faster on some turns when i would just start to slide VERY slightly. maybe i did the 4-wheel drift but i dunno =P The cornering ability of my car surpassed all of the other cars on the field. I just can never beat that stupid tuscan speed 6....it has too much power =(

i love this place

i still can't find any setings for my Toyota GTo- one Road car

Use Edit button :D. Welcome to GTPlanet. I will see if I can find any settings. If not you can ask 'NoNOS4Me' as he usually has settings for every car. His website should be up soon as well...
