Hello everyone. Blitz1942 here. I guess I'll tell you a little about myself.
First, my username. It is also my PSN and the name I've been using on a good amount of forums for a while now. It roots from my interest in military history, primarily my interest in World War 2. I've always found myself to be more interested in the history of the German forces during WW2. Seeing as 1942 was the turning point of the war, with the battles of El Alamein and Stalingrad taking place, I based my name off that. It started off as Blitzkrieg1942 at early sites I went to, but was shortened to Blitz1942 as of about 3 years ago.
A little about myself. I'm 19 years old, originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, more specifically, West Allis, Wisconsin. I am a sophmore attending UW-Stout up in Menomonie, Wisconsin, majoring in Game Design & Development with a focus in Computer Science. There is also the possibility of me trying for a minor in German, from elsewhere in the UW system, seeing as I'm not sure if Stout offers it.
With that being said, I'm pretty sure it's safe to call me a gamer, I have been since I was maybe 6 or 7. I started playing Gran Turismo when I got GT3 not long before GT4 originally came out. Currently I don't use a wheel, but my roommate for next year does plan on getting a G27 for his PC, which means I'll likely get to use it with my PS3. As far as games other than GT5 that I play, I do a fair bit of Black Ops gaming, as well as the occasional Bad Company 2 gaming. I cannot wait until the release of Battlefield 3, and am actually looking forward to Madden 12 this year, moreso than I am Modern Warfare 3.
As far as cars go, I prefer my Dodges and classic 60s/70s muscle cars over other cars. My dream car is a Viper, of any kind. I split time between my car, and my family's two cars. I own a 2000 Ford Escort that used to belong to my grandmother. She recently moved into a retirement home and has no use for the car anymore, so I got it. Generally I use it, but occasionally I use our 2001 Dodge Dakota. That thing's fun as hell to drift in the snow. For meeting with friends and other general extracurricular activities however, I use our 2010 Dodge Challenger. Sadly no Hemi (we're from West Allis, not Brookfield or New Berlin), but I don't think I've met anyone in person that actually cared.
A little more about me personally, I've had numerous friends compare me to Dr. House. Apparently, I'm a sarcastic smartass with excellent observational, logic and reasoning skills. I've also had my fair share of House-like epiphanies, usually revolving around the programming assignments we would get last year. It's either that, or they suspect I'm addicted to Vicodin...
For TV, I watch House (so I do understand the House comparisons). I also watch The X-Files, Dexter, Weeds, The Walking Dead, and a little Californication from time to time. I've been a huge Green Bay Packers fan since I was 4. I used to follow NASCAR a bit, but have gotten out of it with Johnson's recent domination. I'm a Kenseth fan due to his Wisconsin roots, and a fan of the late Alan Kulwicki. I also like the Penske drivers, Keselowski and Kurt Busch.
I really don't want to list movies I like just because there's so many.
I tend to prefer rock and metal music over other forms of music. I can't stand rap or country. I have a soft spot for classical music, and I put full blame on being related to Franz Schubert for that.
Uhh, so that's pretty much it. I think. Long introductory post, but it's for the best.
