Hey guys. I'm Hobogoku, my name in RL is Nigel. I've been lurking around here for a little while now, so I thought I'd join the community and say hi! I've always love GT since the grand 'ol days of the PS One, and I'm having a fantastic time with GT5. So, a few things about me:
I found GT Planet how most lurkers did, thanks to a search engine powerhouse called Google.
I live in the United States and have always.
It's funny to think about it now, but if it wasn't for my dad so long ago I would have never had Gran Turismo. All I knew when I was 6 or so was that I liked cars and wanted a game for my new PlayStation that dealt with cars. Dad found the original Gran Turismo, and what can I say? I have been a loyal fan ever since.
A steering wheel is definitely on my list of things to buy. I really want to get a good one, at the same time it's not as if I carry all the money in the world. Oh well, good things come to those who wait, but those who wait to long will die. In other words, I'll obtain a steering wheel in due time.
I play a variety of games outside of Gran Turismo. I'm also a fan of games by Square Enix (such as Final Fantasy), FPS' (Yes, CoD, Killzone, Resistance, etc.), and I love games like Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear Solid. Essentially, if the gaming company can show that they've done phenomenal work with their game and have it running UP TO SPEC OR HIGHER on the platform they release it on, I'm more than likely willing to support the company by purchasing their game. But if the game feels like it's made halfway, or (in the case of multi-platforms) the game only looks and runs better on one versus the other, then that game is more or less not worth my time. C'mon, why is it that I love GT5?
If nothing else, I'm looking forward to the talking about the new challenges and concepts arising out of GT5. But that doesn't exclude talking about real life challenges, as well as general and awkward conversations. Hopefully I'm also able to share some insight and wit in the near future!
