i just bought the GT5 XL Edition, and i tried playing single player and finished third...and the race would not stop. It was just looping and all the cars where like on a safety lap, tried to wait for it but it would not end the race even on 2 laps single player arcade mode. i had to use the quit the game option on the PS3 menu to go out of the game.

how to get around this issue?

Is this a one time issue or has this happened multiple times?

I will have to check it again when i get back home later. Any suggestions, just in case it would happen again?

I've seen it happen before but as far as I know its isolated.

Sounds like the same symptoms that the "custom music bug" causes.

Are you playing any non-standard game music....?

dont worry clean the disc this happened to me on gt5platinum and it was le sarthe 20laps!

Could be your bluray laser is on its way out. My fatty started doing the same before it finally gave up.

Yes in fact i changed the race music to custom...

Thanks for the reply guys. Will try a couple of ur suggestions and emulate it again.

There is your answer. Using custom music files is known to cause this problem, so just revert back to the normal game music and the problem goes away.

I stopped using my own music a long time ago, and I won't use it until I know that PD have fixed this problem.
