I'm trying to create or come as close as I can to get the Midnight Purple II colour. I have a 1/12 Fujimi Nissan Skyline GTR R32 and my dream colour scheme is Midnight purple II + Nismo stripe. I don't have a compressor, I unfortunately have to use rattle cans

Can you please help. Will post pics as I go for you to all see

Thank you

I've used automotive touch up spray paint from Wal*Mart that matches factory body colors. You could give that a try.

Or is there any combination of Krylon that would work? Find the right base color and then add something like Iridescent or Pearlescent over the top?

As for the stripe, are you looking to paint that as well? Keep in mind that I'm not sure what the stripe looks like exactly but as an option, if you're willing to spend a bit for it, you could go to a decal shop and have them cut it for you. I worked at a shop for 7 years and made quite a few things like that on the digital printer (1/25 scale Z71 decals are tiny, BTW  ). If you decide to go that route, let me know, either here or in a PM, and I'll see if I can give you some pointers on what to bring them to go off of, etc. You'd be surprised at some of the crappy pictures I had to use to make decals. :yuck:

Hmmm I could try automotive paint, but I have never in my life seen that colour in a can lol

I have a friend who is a sign writer he does all of that kind of stuff as well as vehicular graphics. Yeah they are tiny I suppose in your work 1/12 isn't much bigger? lol

If you can, get Nissan's paint code for MNP and then go to a paint shop and get them to make you a small aerosol can... Shouldn't be more than £15 for a 500ml can which is more than enough for a large model, it will also give a really good finish if done properly because it was intended for use on real cars not model cars where the quality probably drops.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU lol Now.... To find a paint shop here in NZ that will do that..... Hmmmmm
