hi guys, just bought a logitech dfgt... first time using a wheel on gt-5, im having some problem with its "automatically turning" like on a straightaways it moves left and right really ******** me out and when the car is like jumping the wheel starting to move like hell..... do i need to muscle it? like forcing it im just afraid that it might broke.

Need your help/suggestions

Thankyou guys

sorry for my bad english:tdown:👎

Which car are you using? Or it happens on all cars?

Turn the forcefeedback down, as a first step.

Dont be afraid to man-handle it. If you let go of the wheel on a straight away it will shake itself into a spin-out.

You could try turning the FFB down. I have my g25 set to 'Simulation' and a firm 2 hand grip is required

I think I subconsciously steer slightly left and right to compensate the clearance of the wheel. The clearance between gear and gearrack is a problem with the DFGT, not the G25/G27 models. The second factor is the FFB deadzone which appears on both wheel types though.

It may help to activate the power assisted steering option and to turn the feedback strength down.
Or if the clearance is a big problem take it appart (warranty loss!) and try to reduce the clearance.
You can't get rid of the FFB deadzone though.

I personally do not use assisted steering and have FFB set to 10, but I guess I'm simply way too used to it already.
FFB 10 feels a little weak actually...

Whatever you do, DO NOT turn the power assisted steering on. Way to kill the wheel.

Your describing The FFB, simple test, turn FFB off and does the problem remain, no, so why mess with power assist? I do not know.

Adjust the FFB to your liking, FFB10 is nothing to brag about so don't feel anything about whatever set up you land on

I used to run FFB10 on my DFGT but broke one. Was it 100% the high FFB setting that caused the damage? Hard to say, Mostly the issue I think was when I would go for a fast counter steer, it felt like I was putting it though more then it could handle. I run my second DFGT on FFB5 and its lasted twice as long so far, at 5 the FFB feels fine.

Important thing to remember is to fully depress the brake pedal once you get on the track first time of the session. The Pedal continuously calibrates its end point to the furthest point of depression. If you only push it half way it thinks half way is all the way if you know what I mean.

If I remember right, mine did that as well. I believe it's normal, but as others suggested, turn down the FFB, and work your way up, and avoid the Power Assistant-setting, too. - You'll have to get the ($500 retail priced) T500RS to get a wheel you can let go off, without it going "nuts" so to say (maybe Fanatecs can do so, too?):dopey:.

Once again, those settings of Simulation, Professional, and Amatuer not not work for the DFGT or your G25 for that fact. Those settings only work for the wheels that are high-lighted when the option is selected. Read the scrolling text under the menu. The only wheels that those modes are for are the GT Force, Driving Force, and the Driving Force EX. I don't know why people can't understand this or even just read the text under that menu.

I wonder more how they can feel a difference or imagine.

I don't know, but do you know how many times I have had to correct people on that? About 5 or 6 times in the last couple weeks alone. I'm sure you've seen my posts. Its just hard to believe how many people are misunderstood about that, especially when its right there in front of their eyes in the scrolling text.

Possibly because its adjustable no matter what wheel is plugged in. Many just throw it on Simulation right off the bat by default with no interest to analyze how anything but a Sim set up runs. As I did, I payed no attention to the scrolling text I just tossed it on Sim, no Power assist and adjusted FFB to my liking. The DFGT also works on MANY driving games, often they have a "Simulation" setting that does indeed work with the DFGT etc (reduced rotation etc). When suggesting my wheel settings as others do, we simply have them mirror what we use ;) so we are certain no unknown difference (even if there are none) can throw off the result. In any case with the DFGT, GT25 etc the setting doesn't have an impact, so not too big of a deal. GT5 being such a "large" game not everybody is into micro analyzing everything.

Whats actually funny is how quick you guys are to jump down somebody's throat when they say to use Sim on a wheel you guys already know it doesn't work on. Its like you guys figured something out that many overlook (CONGRATULATIONS, pat yourselves on the back a few times lol ) and get off on acting like nerds about it.

If its so important to some of you just give the info when the obviously common mistake happens, if your going to be a douche about it, why post at all when either way ( Set to sim, amateur or whatever) it don't make ANY difference at all...

There is nothing to analyze if you would have read the description in the scrolling text in the first place. The wheels that those settings are not intended for are also greyed out, so that would be your second clue. You also can't go by what other games those settings work for, that is totally irrelevant. Also, I'm not jumping down anyones throat, I'm just pointing out the obvious. When people advise other members to use those settings on wheels that they do not work for, its passing around the wrong information and needs to be corrected.

Lastly, I don't appreciate being called a "nerd" or a "douche". I have not called you any names so I really don't see why you feel the need to call me names. This is not the first time you have personally attacked me, unprovoked I might add, and I'm really getting tired of it. I was not even talking to you in this case. So please, put down your "axe to grind" and forget about the past and move on. Thanks.

There is nothing to analyze if you would have read the description in the scrolling text in the first place.

I might have a few years back, but the info being of no importance to me, & making no difference at all getting so nit picky over every little detail is micro analyzing it. OBVIOUSLY its a common error.

The wheels that those settings are not intended for are also greyed out, so that would be your second clue.

Congratulations for you, want a cookie?

You also can't go by what other games those settings work for, that is totally irrelevant.

I never said to go by other games settings, (comprehension is key ;) ) I'm saying seeing "Sim" settings that have an effect on the DFGT is common ;) so seeing it in the menu of GT5 makes it an easy mistake to make (as obviously is a common one ;) ) Not everybody sits through every scrolling text for everything in this huge game... I realize that this game consumes much of your life, you cant assume everybody else has the same time to play games...

Also, I'm not jumping down anyones throat, I'm just pointing out the obvious.

Well yeah, your condescending tone and carefully chosen words do just that.... However your obviously oblivious to it... That's ME pointing out the obvious ;)

When people advise other members to use those settings on wheels that they do not work for, its passing around the wrong information and needs to be corrected.

It makes absolutely no difference, its only a technicality that has Zero impact....

So Big Deal!

Lastly, I don't appreciate being called a "nerd" or a "douche". I have not called you any names so I really don't see why you feel the need to call me names.

Never called you either of those names ;)

Its only people acting all nerdy about it that seem to care and some are acting like douchebags all surprised everybody cant seem to read the scrolling text and keeps making the mistake.

This is not the first time you have personally attacked me, unprovoked I might add, and I'm really getting tired of it

My goodness "personal attack"? Are you serious? ROFLMFAO Good one... WOW what are we men, or little girls?

Dude, seriously, leave me alone and quit harrassing me. You're the one that jumped on my case because of my post, which wasn't even directed at you. I was talking to someone else. So please, knock your crap off with me just because you don't like what I post. Take your drama elsewhere.

But obvious is obvious. The displayed wheels fill out the half screen, I recommend eye check. Trust me, I'm a doc.

Bla I talk around stuff to somehow confuse everything and justify wrong facts with something insignificant for the actual topic.

As careful as saying "acting like douchebags" (your words) and "acting all nerdy" (again your words).

Gives two rolleyes for you:

Apparently so big deal for you that you found it necessary to jump on us.

What is somebody who acts nerdy and like douchebags? Huh? Care to explain?
Care to explain how this doesn't have an offensive tone in it?

Damn, I can't wait to get showed a linguistic analysis by you.

My goodness "personal attack"? Are you serious? ROFLMFAO Good one... WOW what are we men, or little girls?
Reckon the latter, why is it that hard to see the offense?

But we all know what for a super masculin badass you are. :)

Pot meet kettle. I only see one person here being a " 🤬 " and that's you. I'm guessing referring to someone as a " 🤬 " likely violates the AUP as well.

Which car are you using? Or it happens on all cars?

Turn the forcefeedback down, as a first step.

I turn it down in-game still it has that moving feeling and i try to play RALLY dangg i feel that i weel broke when i counter steer it.

yeah its not working because its for driving force pro and other wheels with blue on them :)) thanks btw

ok should i turn it off on the PC ? or in - game ? i set my overall FFB 10% ONLY but i can still a little bit but im driving now, and the suspension and damper feedbacks are 0% is that cool or what? thanks btw!

GUYS what if i turn down the overall FFB in PC like 0%.... and in-game FFB 1 no assisted steering????????????? i play rally it feel like the ffb is 20+ or something.

Which car are you using? Or it happens on all cars?

Turn the forcefeedback down, as a first step.

i try to all, my FR Problem is when it spins? its hard to counter the 900 deg. rotation, FF nothing at all just the foking wheel movements same as the MR, 4WD on rally d a m n. the feedback of the wheel to the dirt is not real... (i dont see hirvonen hustle like what i doing :))) )

Shouldn't do anything. The game programs it automatically. I don't think anything on the PC software will affect it on the PS3

so it means that the pc setting is only for PC, wow that's too bad...... thanks for the info

No problem

It makes no difference to me what is highlighted or not, I don't care :D it literally makes no difference at all because of the wheel I use :D no need to have my eyes checked, they only tend to focus in on stuff that I care about, and makes an actual difference. Either way being a difference or not, I set it to Sim just in case lmao as I don't care to have it any other way :D . I have no problems admitting I too made the mistake (not here, but still) I don't see why I have to be blind or have a hard time understanding whats right in front of my face as if its being insinuated you would have to be blind and stupid to make the mistake. The point I bring up that you "blah blah" are simply to show how easy and common the mistake is. Why get insulting (Blind, hard time understanding whats right in front of our face) that is being a Douche about it... I have no choice but to choose my words carefully as some people are very careful with theirs & then feel attacked all the time over nothing, they hit that CB button like a senior citizen hits that button trio...

As for FFB and DFGT its as simple as set it to how you like it. Is it normal for the wheel to require the driver hold it in place to keep it going straight, yeah it's normal. The wheel is light as a feather with FFB off so its just a matter of adjusting the strength to where you like it from there.

You had to do it again, didn't you? 👎

So what if the guy keeps reminding people that the simulation mode does not work on this wheel and that wheel? Is it that important to you?
I can not recall him insulting anybody as opposed to what you did a few post earlier... When is enough, enough?

It might have been mentioned before, but you can calibrate the wheel and then unplug the power. That disables the FFB totally 👍.

Yup, seems like you did also, so Ill do it again :D

I don't see why I have to be blind or have a hard time understanding whats right in front of my face as if its being insinuated you would have to be blind and stupid to make the mistake. The mistake in question we are being called stupid (very carefully) for making is a common easy mistake to make and people who make it don't have to be blind & stupid......

I never said anybody was blind or stupid, only that they are misunderstood and may need to pay more attention to the descriptions in the game before they go about passing out the wrong information here on the forums. Telling people to set their wheels to Sim setting, or any of the other two settings, when those settings do not work for their wheels is passing along wrong information and needs to be corrected. That is all I'm doing here. Nothing about me insinuating anything. That would be you, trying to spin my words around for the sole purpose of taking yet another one of your digs at me. So please, give it a rest. I really don't need the drama.

And, just for the record, I didn't hit any CB button or whatever it is you're talking about. People just see things how they really are, not how they want them to be.

I try this mr. Doofensmurch the unplugtinator but i think its the same (where do i unplug it? On game? In menu or in race?) thanks btw

When the game loads up the wheel rotates to each end point then centers. This is the wheel calibrating. Once the wheel has finished calibrating pull the power supply to the DFGT. It will still give inputs through the USB but with no power to the wheel the FFB will be inactive.

I guess you could disable the FFB but seems like when I've accidently had mine unplugged I could hardly drive with it. No feedback and completely loose.

The FFB is what makes the DFGT such a great low price wheel. It's silly to not use it.

Lower your FFB to your liking. Mine is at 6 or 7 and feels fine. I use power steering because of tendonitis and a pinched nerve otherwise it bothers my old bones, heh. Although I've gone months with it off and a high FFB. Maybe that's why I've got tendonitis, doh.

You should quit making assumptions,if you don't know, don't give an answer,if it's hard to say,say nothing.Do you work for Logitech? How do you know the brake pedal calibrates continuously when depressed at only 10%? Do you have any proof that it calibrates once, then assumes it is fully or partially depressed?I have used power assisted steering for over 2 years with my DFGT and it still works fine,I guess you didn't remember to turn the wheel all the way left then all the way right before when you get on the track before your first session. If you only turn it part way it will calibrate it to think that.:sly:

I think he is right, I have a DFGT also, and I don't work for Logitech, but you don't have to work for Logitech to figure out how the brake pedal works. I would suggest you maybe test it out. Load the game up without touching the brake pedal, and jump in a free lap, and slowly press the brake pedal and see when it goes to 100%, is it before the pedal is fully pressed? (Yes) Then slowly press it past that point and see how the pedal is continuously calibrated to the furthest point it is pressed, if not pressed 100% then you will hit 100% brake in the game but not on the pedal, but when ever you do press the brake 100% your endpoint will be calibrated to the maximum travel of the pedal, but not until then.

Here is a video to show people without a DFGT

I have used power assisted steering for over 2 years with my DFGT and it still works fine,

Power assisted steering is an assist, it helps you as it weakens the resistance when making sudden turns. It basically makes it easier to deal with FFB and the wheel feels "lighter". Most turn it off as this is a form of driving assist.

FFB10 with Power assist turned off is quite different from FFB10 with power assist helping you, the power assist also reduces the stress of high FFB settings on the wheel.

I guess you didn't remember to turn the wheel all the way left then all the way right before when you get on the track before your first session. If you only turn it part way it will calibrate it to think that.:sly:

You don't have to remember to turn the wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the right before when you get on the track before your first session because the wheel automatically does this on its own when you launch the game, it however does not press the brake pedal all the way as it lacks the ability to do so.

You should quit making assumptions,if you don't know, don't give an answer,if it's hard to say,say nothing.

Its not hard to figure out. You don't need to work for Logitech and its obviously not an assumption, its a fact. Seem its you that doesn't know, & after having it for more than 2 years.
