Help! Getting error message when trying to register a new time.

Sorry if this it the wrong forum/supposed to be in GT6, but I'm getting an error message when I'm trying to register a new best lap that was a good .5 seconds better then my old one. When I leave the race to go back to the final event menu "'Event Ranking Error: 29: -5'" comes up and the game will not upload my time to the server or update my ranking. Has anyone run into this or know how to fix it?

Yeah dude happened to me a twice. "'Event Ranking Error: 29: -5'" means that you're now ranked 29th regional, minus 5 positions from where you use to be. Just keep pressing retry when it says fail and hope for the best. It took me about 4 retries to make a successful register.
 
Thanks man, pretty much what I did, and the exact same thing has just happened again going from 29th to 24th... grrr. It eventually registered last time though so hopefully my 2nd personal best for the night won't disappear into the ether either :)
