Somethings wrong my PS3/GT5 or game data.

I've been playing GT5 pretty much every night since the day it was launched.
The other night I sat to play but it asked me to update to v2.03.
I tried to update it but it kept stopping halfway saying "an error occurred" and left "corrupted data" above the game on XMB.

Now whenever I try to load the game, I get the first SCEE/Polyphony screen with "loading data" in bottom right corner of screen then all I get is a blank screen with no sound or picture.

Luckily I have three separate saved game data on USB drives from last week, July and May this year.
I tried loading all three of those game data on the PS3 but I'm getting the same blank screen with all 3.
Fair enough if one of those game data somehow got corrupted but how can all three be corrupted??

I reformatted the whole ps3 HDD which took around 4 hours then restored the ps3 which took another few hours.

When I loaded the game this time it worked. The game loaded from the start and It started over from fresh.

When I tried to load my data back on I got the same blank screen. Tried it with the other 2 usb drives and same problem.

It's not loading up my game data.

I rang sony earlier and their tech support were much useless. Only thing they could advise me is to "change video resolution to 720p"
How on earth does that have anything to do with resolution when everything else is fine and GT5 loads the first screens and only hangs up when it's trying to load the data?

I wish I paid for that online backup service or wish everyones game data was saved automatically on their cloud service so times like these the customers could buy back their data.

Anything I can do?? I'm sooo scared I've lost my data
If I have lost my 2 years data of GT5 then my PS3 is useless.

All i can say is this :

Try play offline 👍
And KEEP THE SAVE DATA <----- That's the most important thing on your GT Life !

Good Luck !

Backup your save file onto USB, did you do that?

He said he has three separate ones.

I thought it may have something to do with network settings so I unplugged the Ethernet from the back of the ps3 so it has been in offline mode since yesterday!

Still none of my data on 3 separate USB drives is loading on the ps3.

download PS3 firmwares , and save them to USB
keep your PS3 updated
keep your GT5 updated
backup your USB to your HDD
backup your HDD to another HDD
backup that other HDD to a cloud
lose passwords
lose USB sticks
lose your backups to a house fire
recover partial USB files from some old revision that's incompatible to what you need to do at this time today.
you're sheize out of luck.
call dogbert.

I get blank (black) screen at start when my game disc is slightly dirty. I dont know why but my disc need to be crystal clean. I'm not kidding. Only one small partial fingerprint and my game wont load or will crash when i open garage.

When I try to update the 2.08, it's a total size of 608mb with 18 separate updates and it always crashes on the 3rd update then I get an error code of 80029564 ??

Are you wireless? If so, try hardwiring just for the updating and see if that makes a difference.

"The other night I sat to play but it asked me to update to v2.03"

Is that first update what you have ever made?
(I can't believe game downgrades itselfs 2.07-->2.03"

my connection is WIRED I have never used it on wireless.

Is there any way I could download the new GT5 update (v2.08) off the web and download to a USB stick and upload that update via USB onto my PS3??? I suspect it may work that way because my PS3 is telling me I'm downloading corrupted data everytime I try to update via the PS3.

The only thing that I could suggest is to delete the game data off the ps3 then re-install it. Beware however that could take a good few hours depending on your connection. Also delete the game saves as well. So basically you load gt5 for the first time. You then would copy your saves back to the ps3 overwriting the brand new save(made with new game data)!

I have the same problem. When its get corrupted it resets all updates. I have yet to find an answer same error code and everything. I backed up everything then deleted everything started a new one and still get same error code in the updates.
