I've justed started the Elise series (using the Elise motor sport) and i've been struggling to win races or even come close. I've tuned the car up as much as possible, so its either a) a setup problem or b)me!!!!!

I won the first race (Cote d'azur) without too much difficulty, but with the following races i can't keep up with my opponents. I seem to be struggling with medium-fast corners, always ending up in gravel traps!!!

Has anybody any tips?

i havent tried racing there yet. Im on the polyphony series. But i hear its very difficult. ANYWAY, the elise is not that hard to use if you practice. just take it to complex string and test out your settings..

Just a suggestion

My advice would be to go to the various tuning sites on the net and try using their settings until you find 1 that suits your style of driving.

im in the middle of the gran turismo all stars and its 10 races of 15 laps each and now im on the 7th race and the oil light is killing my acceleration.

Have you tried adjusting the Camber and Toe settings? I changed these to make the car turn easier and was able to win l the series pretty easily. There was one race that I had to go back and rerun to win after I finished the series but I can't remember which one it was.

Follow the scrolling instructions on the set up screen to change the camber and toe for better grip during corning and easier turning. Don't max out the settings and you won't have much trouble with straight line stablility. I like a little oversteer....but dial it in to your taste.

Use the qualifying sessions to adjust your gearing so your dont hit the rev limitter on the straights. You can qualify, adjust, qualify, adjust, etc. Just bump the auto gearing setting up or down a step at a time until you get it right. You want to set it as low as possible and still not hit the rev limitter at the end of the course's longest straight.

Also, I used the Motor Sprt Elise. So that's not your problem.

Good Luck.

I managed to get thru those $#é%&* !! series with a Motor Sport Elise with the following settings :

1- Fully mod it to the max. (With whatever available in the store.)

2- Tyres : Front : Medium - Hard slicks
Rear : Hard slicks

3- Suspension :
Springs : 11,5 / 10,5
Height : Min. / Min.
Bound : 10 / 10
Rebound: 10 / 10
Camber : 2.5 / 1.0
TOE : 0.0 / 1.5
Stabs : 7 / 7
ASM : 10
TCS : 5
Downforce : As is.

4- Gears : Depending on the track, but around 27 (auto) for Monaco.

These worked out very good for me...

5- Warning : Brake way earlier and don't tart hitting the gas before you see your nose pointing towards the exit of the curve.

It IS one frustrating series but not worse than the blasted Yaris Thing Championship... Good luck.

Thanks you all for your comments. I shall try your setting this evening, Modik.

I'm finding this series much harder than the Yaris. I cruised through that, winnging all the races without having to change any setting. I just tuned the car to the max and off i went. No problem!

I'm struggling with the 2nd Zonda race at Rome II though. That car is a nightmare to drive!!!! The 1st race in the Zonda I just scraped a win, so i think just more practice is in order with this car!!!!

Yessir, exactly, I was so frustrated with that bobsled trying to manouver on sand that I finally rode the walls to victory and got thru with it, never to race that crappy thing ever again. The race car ? Even worse than it's road version !!! :P

steviep, I had some difficult on this course also but after a while a good settings made it.

modik, about the Italian Zonda races, buy super hard tires (super slick) and just don't pit, that will make it.

I wouldn't touch that damned strip even with a 20 foot long cane ever again 😈

makes sense... but there is the "Zonda Return" chapter, when you find out you didn't make the damn gold in the Zonda license test... 😈

As for the Elise races, I seem to remember that I used a Motorsport Elise with suspension settings to kill the oversteer and give it more body roll. If I remember right, I went with brake settings that induced understeer (just to counter the excessive oversteer of the Lotus) and lowered the stabilizer bars' ratings significantly.

With the Zonda C12S, I countered the oversteer and excessive stability with brake, spring, stabilizer, and ride height settings (yes, I actually kept the car off the ground). I also used Medium racing tires and pitted after five laps. This gave me the ability to get out in front using the insane power of the Zonda and pass the Zonda Race Cars again late as their tires became garbage.

I recommend figuring out what problem you're having with a given car in light of your driving style (I am not a drifter by any means) and read the descriptions in each setting regarding what will happen if you change it.

I won the Zonda Race Car from one of the other series - I can't remember for sure but I think it was the All Japan GT Championship in professinal league. I know I was suprised because it was not listed in any of the prize car lists (that I've seen) for the series I won it in. Anyway, you can easily win all the zonda races with a tuned Zonda Race Car. I'm 99% sure I won it in the All Japan GT Championship in professional league. I'm positive it was the in a Professinal League series.

I've done it. Finally won the Elise series last night, using the setting Modik posted. Won all the races apart from Apricot hill. Don't know why i struggled on that one, and won easily on the others, but never mind!!!!

Thanks to everyone who took time out to post tips for me. It is appreciated!!
