Hello, this is my second post here. I just got the Dfgt today. I would like to replace the shifter knob with a real one. Can i pop off that round knob on the shifter or unscrew the whole thing from the bottom. I also ordered fanantec paddle shifters, if anybody has any advice on how to mount them , it would be appreciated

The base of the DFGT gearstick has two flanges which depress the two microswitches used to change gear so it wont just be a case of unbolting the stick and then adding in a new one.

As for the Clubsport paddles I do know somone on this forum has given it a shot and wasn't happy with the results. The issue is that the DFGT paddles are a little too loose, and a little too small to mount the paddles on.

I'm not saying you can't do it it's just that many have tried and only one that I know of really could be considered a success. I personally wrote the idea off because of the reports of people destroying their DFGT in the process.

Old post but, the dfgt has a nut on the bottom of the shifter. Unscrew it and the entire stick slides out of the mechanism that presses the switch. A nice long bolt and nut threaded for your shift knob should work as long as it fits in the hole.
