Help me buy a XBOX360!

I am thinking of selling my ps2, with 2 controllers, memory card, and 15-20games, so i can get an XBOX360. The XBOX360 games that come to pc, i would rather get it on PC, because free online gaming, and i think my pc has better graphics. One game i am really looking forward to getting, would be PGR3, the game looks great, and the cars have interiors. Is this all worth it? I would be getting the 299.99 xbox360 since i dont have money for the one with the hardrive. How do i save games without the 20gig?
 
You would need the memory card and a few other things to get the best out of the 360, so you're better off waiting for something to happen later. Granted of course, PGR3 is an awesome game, but trust me, I'd wait a bit longer.

With Gears of War, Forza 2, Blue Dragon, Vivia Piniata, etc all comming soon you might be better off with one of those "2nd gen" titles on the 360. Plus, if the rumors are true, you could pick up the 360 with the 20gig, PGR3, 3 Months of XBOX Live Gold and 1200 XBL Points for $399.99 in the near future. Nothing is solid there, but thats a damn good deal! If you were to buy all of that together right now you would be looking at about $480 worth of stuff (I'm rounding there) for just $399.99...

No word, as it is just a rumor. It has been flying around the XBOX boards quite often, and it has been splashed all over IGN and Gamespot. Their guess is that they can't be completely sure, but Gamespot says "no" but not to hold them to it.

The origional thought was that it was going to be done to slow PS3 sales for the holdiay season, but even then I don't think it would matter much. There is of course the rumor that they would cut the 360's price by $100 on the top-line systems as well, but that certainly isn't offical either.

...Then you've got the mess with the new camera and the HD-DVD drive, and God knows how they plan to factor that into the sales machine as well...
 
Buy your 360 on ebay... here in Germany you can get a Premium for 300 EUR which is more than 300$ but since the Premium is 400 EUR here the % are the same... so go and get on ebay...
 
Wathever you do, do not buy the kit without the HD. It might seem cheaper, but you'll just end up buying the HD later and you'll end up with the same price.
The HD is pretty much a must for a lot of games.

The cheaper one is technically $340 anyways because of the memory card if you wish to save. Typical MS trying to make a few bucks.

Yes, agreed. You are missing out on so much stuff without having the Hard Drive. You cannot download demos and content from the Marketplace because there just isn't enough room on the memory stick. You already pay about £25 for the memory stick anyway, so it's worth saving up. I'd say wait that little bit longer to have one, or even wait for the rumored package that may come out around the time the PS3 comes out (November).
 
I agree with waiting for the PGR3+XBL+1200points+Premium system for the price of a regular premium system. It's already out in Canada. It will probably come to the states, too.
 
DO NOT BUY THE 360 WITHOUT THE HARD DRIVE. It's as necessary as a controller for the 360. If you're not getting the HDD, you're missing out on a billion features for the 360, and then you may as well not even get one.

Did the reliability of the 360 go up? Did they fix all the problems? I dont want my system breaking after couple months.

If there is sth wrong with your 360 you'll notice after a few hours/days/weeks depending on the amount of different games you play. Then call MS and get a new one, simple as that...no risk

Well, I originally bought one in April, but a month ago it started scratching my discs. So, I returned it and got a new one, and it has a better, quieter disc drive, and it's not messing up my games. :)
 
Yeah, Microsoft isn't too bad about repairing 360s either. Aside from the looooong time spent on the phone (check "My 360 Got Fried!" for more info...) I was able to get it sent off Thursday to be repaired. Odd thing, I found the address of where it was being sent on the internet and they apparently have them repaired by Jabil Circuit Inc. :odd:

So, I'm without a 360 for now. :cry:

I completely agree with this. You wont be able to DL demos games, arcade games, trailers, download content and much more. You will be completely missing out.
If you dont plan on getting xbox live then the 360 isnt for you. The 360 is almost 100% focused on the online community. To get the most out of your 360 you really need xbox live. Your right the pc has better graphics.
