Ok I have a desktop computer its model is a Emachines w3622 windows xp.
Im trying to hook up wireless and im not sure if i can even i talked to a friend of mine online and he said i should get a netgear wireless usb adapter and im wondering if this will work? the router we have is a 2wire att router and already sends out wireless signal. I beileve my computer should be able to hook up wireless I just dont know how. can someone help me out here?

I'll assume that the 2Wire router is actually a modem/router and say that with that, you're halfway there - you have the "sending" part of the system. Now you need the "receiving" end, that being the USB adapter your friend mentioned. Once you have that, then someone can run you through setting up the security, etc.

Back to the adapter. Your friend said Netgear, but really any adapter that does Wireless G or N will do the trick. The one thing I would suggest is at least go with a brand you've heard of - Netgear, Linksys and D-Link to name a few. Personally, I'm a Linksys guy, but everyone has their favorites. I'm rambling now but the bottom line is it really doesn't matter. And again, once you've bought it, someone will run you through setup.

Or someone will do it while I'm typing this. :p

Also, as you are already online, I'm assuming it's either hard wired of you're on a different machine. If it is hard wired, why do you need it wireless?
