Help me pick out a Sound card

Well unless you're extremely concerned about sound, then there's no need to use a sound card. Just use the one on your motherboard (granted that you have one). If not, the one you picked out is good.
 
For the price, that's a great card. One point with PCI sound card solution is that it can free up additional system resources otherwise being used by the onboard sound processing. As halfracedrift said, for gaming and most audio needs, onboard sound solutions by mother boards these days do a great job as well.
 
Soundblaster is the #1 soundcard producer in my opinion. I've got the new Platinum ZS, and that thing kicks some serious buttox. :D I've also got the Audigy LS and yes, it handles game sounds like a charm. I'd say go for it, for a great audio experience.
 
I think you can pick up a Creative Soundblaster Live! card for about £20. It will work well with any 5.1 speakers and it comes bundled with different cables and all the software you could need.
