Lately as some of you might know from reading a previous post I've been trying to come up with a good sport package for street cars such as the Honda Civic Type R '08 and I think I've come up with some good "simple" upgrades that don't go overboard but aren't anywhere near stock, the upgrades are as followed.

*Sport air filter
*Sports intake manifold

*Sports exhaust
*Catalytic converter: sports
*Sports exhaust manifold

*High RPM turbo kit/supercharger

*Sport soft tires

This is what I call my "sport package" and I do it to most all of my street cars but my question to you guys is what else should I include in the package to make the car more sporty? I don't wan't anything that has to do with racing on the car such as a racing air filter but I have debated on different sport suspension upgrades but I'm not sure what else to add on to make the car more sport but without crossing over into the racing side of things such as removing weight from the car and what not.

Some other common "sporty" upgrades done to street cars?

Do a "Sports Suspension" on it,one of the first things to do on a good street machine is put some Eibach springs and Koni shocks on it along with urethane bushings in all the joints...worlds better in all around feel in the car. (just my opinion)👍

Check out RLT Garage on my signature. Street tunes with their own justifications.

Sports ECU :) and maybe a LSD

Ditch the LSD. Other then what's listed, I'd say sports suspension, ECU Tuning, Engine Stage 1. Maybe a turbo.

There are two sport suspension upgrades, which one should I go with?

The High RPM Turbo or supercharge is too far over the top for a sport package. But, a stage 1 weight reduction should be included.

Some people have described a stage 1 as removing unnecessary equipment, like spare tire, jack, reflectors, floor mats, empty beer cans etc. All the crap you'd take out of the car for a track day.

You need to upgrade your clutch and flywheel for the extra power or else your drivetrain will give out on you

If you know how to adjust the height-adjustable one, go for it. I don't, so I generally go for the standard sports suspension.

Hi, IMO the fully adjustable suspension is worth the extra credits (it costs 20K I think). One of best adjustments for most cars, to get rid of understeer, is the rear and front toe angle. Try rear +0.2 and front -0.1. Some cars (eg. Veyron) actually have these figures, these + and - figures, reversed when you first buy them and have huge understeer. You could also try front camber 2, rear camber 1. Then you can play with the springs, shocks, ride height and roll bars. All my cars have fully adjustable suspension.

I agree with taking the turbo that costs more than the car itself off. Also a bight adjustable would be my recommendation for a suspension kit.

Stage 1 weight reduction,
Fixed sports suspension.
Stage 1 or 2 turbo,
Ecu,
Sports air filter, manifold ect

Sport soft tires would be equivalent to R-compound semi-slick tires in real life. Too grippy for a "sport package" and unsuitable for driving on public roads. Even Sports Hard (roughly equivalent to "street" UHP semi-slick tires like for example Federal 595RS-R tires) wouldn't to some extent.

What's kinda pointless, the "sport package"?

Yeah, I mean I just can't think of a reason for it. I guess maybe you mean something like the bit of preparation you might do for a car that you intended on entering into track days, or something, but a package? You can't exactly sell it!

Just modify the car however you want it and enjoy it; most of us do the same, but calling it a "sport package" is a bit much.

I go by what GT5 tells me and if it says "Sport Tire" it works in my book. I'm not trying to be rude but I like to go by what the actual game. ;)

I could care less what it's called, I couldn't come up with something short and sweet so I went with that name just to label the thread title as short as possible. :lol:

Sorry for the double post hungry mods.

I like the idea of this "sports package" thing even though I have no clear understanding of it. :)

Sports catilac converter

Fair enough. And I suppose a thread called "Help with my Package" might have gone a bit wrong. :)

I reckon the sort of thing you are after can be covered by

Fixed sport suspension
Sports Air Filter
Sports Exhaust (or even semi racing)
Lightened Flywheel
Twin Plate Clutch
Computer

That's what I'd do to sharpen up the Civic, because it would most closely mirror what most would do in real life. (Well, maybe not the flywheel bit).

I always throw the following on:

Stage 1 Weight Reduction;
ECU;
Sports Intake;
Sports Manifold;
Sports Exhaust;
Sports Cat;
Sports Adjustable Suspension; and
Sports Soft Tyres.

All are very realistic mods to do to a real life street/track car though Sports Soft tyres (Toyo Proxes R888's in my case) are a bit of a pain to live with everyday. :-)

It just means all the upgrades are sporty and street car like. :)

Thanks for all of your feedback guys!
