HELP my PS3 is ABOUT to DIE!

I have joined this forum for 1 specific reason. I have been playing GT5 for a year - just a bit now and again (Im on level 23) but recently my PS3 - 60Gb old style has started to play up... I can use it for 10-15 mins then it freezes up.

I need a new PS3, but how can I transfer over my GT progress? is it easy? I only really play this 1 game, its why I got the PS3 having had PS2 (GT4/3) and original PSX (GT and GT2)

Please help

Get a USB flash drive and copy your game save to it.

My nephew fixed his PS3. It died just like yours and now it's working just like a new one. So if you have MacGyver skills and follow the instructions on youtube you could save your console.

all you need to have is a flash drive and your PSN login for the account that the save data came from.....
1. copy your gt5 save data to the flash drive
2. write down your sign in id (e-mail for the account and the password)
3. Very important... After you write it down go to "ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT" then go to "SYSTEM ACTIVATION" then deactivate your PSN account on the old one for games...(reason after the PS3 SYSTEM UPDATE V4.00 you can only have 2 activations for games used to be 5)
4. when you get the new go to the "sign up for PSN" PS3 log-in to PSN using a existing account type in your e-mail and password for the account and log-in
5. copy your save data from your usb flash drive onto your new PS3 and then load gt5 then do the updates

Or also if you have Playstation Plus account you can back up your GT5 file there as well.
 
you can use the data transfer utility to make a copy of your old PS. All you need is a short ethernet cable to connect both units.

True as long as the old one isn't dead by that time....
Also i edited a step that is very important almost forgot about it
