I need some help. Apparently my computer has ****ed itself up...
I have recieved multiple stop errors, and have checked them out in the microsoft site. I can boot into safe mode (as I am in now) with network support.

It seems that my error can be cleaned up by running a scandisc, however, it seems to exit and fault before it is finished. The current error: (I have resolved 2 and the thrid now appears)

0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0x77e88492, 0x00000000, 0x77e88492)

Of course I have tried the emergency recovery with the win2k cd, but that doesn't seem to work as it needs to scan the drive, which of course faults halfway though.

If anyone has any idea's post them here, OR PLEASE SEND ME AN PM.

Thx

Deathhawk,

Man, that's too bad. And, I hate to say MistaX is probably right. Now, you could either spend a week goofing around with it to fix it, or just backup all your necessary stuff to another machine (since you've got network support) and then reformat.

It's horrible that we have to use "reformatting" as a preventative maintenance from time to time. lol

Hopefully the Mac guys don't see that.

Normally if i get a relitivly small error that would cause me to do more work then I should, I'll just reformat or reinstall windows.
Saves time and energy, but maybe i just do that because I can back things up on a few spare hds.

Yah. I was afraid that would happen. I got the repair wizard to work, and it solved one problem, but another popped up. So I just reinstalled. I didnt reformat yet, becuase I need to finish a project before the end of the week, and I need the computer NOW. So.

Anyway. I am back for the time being.

Win2k is supprisingly quick to reinstall. It did everything in 20 mins.

Heh heh heh... :p

Do you PC users have to reformat from time to time?

BTW Deathhawk, sorry for your troubles... Get a Mac!

I have a q? Where in win2k are the messages for outlook stored?

I am trying to find them in documnets and settings...

Do a search for *.dbx

The dbx is the extension for outlooks messages. Usually it's sitting in a windows directory\identities\{125842c54c2s54sd2154}\outlook type of path.

Would have been the same. This was restoring all the identities in outlook. Which IS A PAIN IN THE ASS. It wouldn't let me transfer the identities over (which by the way were in c:\documents and settings\administrator\localsettings\identities)

So I had to manually transfer all the address books, folders and messages plus set up seven email accounts. (4people in the house) So it took a while. I also had to reinstall some vital programs as they didn't have entries in the registry

As I said, this is temporary untill I can get my project done.

The funny thing is that this happened when I installed SCGT, with just the normal install program. Then It went away when I installed the "packages" so I thought it was fine.. Obviously not.

Stupid EA.

There is, because when I installed it, it said "windows has detected a faulty .dll. for stabilities sake, windows is reverting the file back to its original state. Please insert your windows cd"
:P

It works fine, its that you need to run it in compatibilty mode off 2K, cuz... 2k sucks for games ;)
