help on 2nd light weight k cup race, C class

ok so i just got GT5P a few days ago, and its been great, but this race seems near impossible. im using the suzuki cuppacino, which from what iv read, is the best car for this race. however, i can't gain any positions. the whole time, i stay in 6th place (starting position) and its getting annoying any advice or help?
