help please

hi im new to this forum, well actually i have been lookin on it for the past couple of weeks and found some of the threads/posts quite helpful so thought i would register.

i have a problem which i dont know if anybody can help me with.

i recently purchased gt5 prologue (i know its been out a while lol) as i have completed all my other games and got this at a good price, however when i start the game it tells me there is an update available. i have tried this now about 7 or 8 times and the update fails halfway through each time. im just wondering if anybody else had this problem and did it eventually work. i want to do the update so it has the latest version.

can anyone help?

Hi Lee, welcome to GTPlanet.

I think it a common problem, I get this everytime GT5P has a new download, you just have to keep trying and eventually it will do the complete download.

Hey Lee and welcome to GTPlanet.

Yeah, its a pretty common problem. Only way to play online is to update the game to its latest version, Spec III. Just got to keep trying even when it fails. It will work in the end.

One thing to try is (cant remember if it worked or not), when it fails, head straight to the news section. By going there I think the game starts downloading from where it failed last time.

Use an ethernet cable to connect your PS3. For me it didn't work on wlan. But first try when i used the cable.

Update to Spec III via wireless worked for me first try, no restart from News needed, your experience may vary

Just keep trying. You will have much higher chance of succes with a cabled connection.

In general wireless connnections, are not very god for gaming.

I had the same problem, it took five attempts before it fully downloaded, as others have stated keep trying because it will download from where it last failed 👍
