Hi guys i need same help & Australian residents may know more.


Here is the problem, i had a broadbad service with Telstra& got a 2wire modem & i has same problems so i canceled the service. I joined dodo broadband & thay told me i can use the Telstra modem with them. the 2wire modem settings were changed to the dodo settings &when i try to sign in on my PS3 i get the error code 8001000B.

I called playstation help line & thay say i have to changed the WPA key code to a WEP key code. I,m not sure if the codes are for the 2wire modem or the PS3, but i cant call the 2wire company since the office is in the United states.

So if anyone can help i would be greatful.

WEP and WPA are WiFi (wireless network) encryption standards. Which means both ends have to agree, so you'd need to change it on both the modem and the PS3.

WEP isn't very secure, but I thought the PS3 supported WPA too?
 
But before you do that - it might be worth buying a LAN cable and attaching the PS3 direct to the router... (This will bypass the WEP/WPA issue)

When you installed the new router you should probably need to run the PS3 through a reconfig. For either wired or wireless connection the Auto detect seems to work well, and you will just need to know the settings that you used on the Router... ie WEP key etc.

If you have a PC that is also connecting through this router to the internet (wirelessly), check its settings and the PS3 needs to be configured identical to this (different IP address of course)
