Help please!!!

Hi. I've tried everything to set up a friend (my new GTP profile) in order to gift a car from my original main account to my friend account so I can partake in the WRS. But when I want to gift a car, no name comes up in the Friends List. When I go to Community, I do not see anything there that suggests that a friend has been created. However both my original profile and GTP profile are on the PSN and I can log in with both accounts on my PS3. What the heck am I doing wrong?
 
Add each other as friends !! If you already have then exit the game turn the PS3 off then back on and reload GT5 they should appear in your friends list.
 
Add your main PSN & have both accounts with a GT5 save game data, only then can you trade with each other!
