Hello,
I was just wondering if you guys recommend this sim. I live in the UK so I was just wondering if it would spoil the race times and stuff like that. Also, there is a 3 for the price of 1 month promotion right now so I was just wondering if people thought that I should jump on that opportunity. I'm looking for a full racing sim so should I go for rFactor (Easier paying - buy and go - however older) or iRacing (possibility that I can't participate in many events - subscription scheme - possibly most realistic sim around).

Thanks.

I'm in the UK and it works just fine for me 👍. I do my racing at the weekends and practice on some week-nights (practice isn't time dependant; you can do that anytime).

I guess it depends on your free time and what races you intend to compete in but just because it's a US based sim, it doesn't really affect participation :)

I would absolutely recommemd this sim. It is leaps and bounds ahead of anything else on the market, and the balance of realism and fun is better than any other sim. You absolutely will not regret the one.month trial, and Im fairly confident youll be looking to renew beyond that ;)

As for you being in the UK, there are always plenty of UK-friendly race splits that are well-stocked with plenty of other British and European drivers. You won't have any trouble finding a race.

Take it from me, I joined a month ago and I dont plan on buying any other racers ever again simply because iRacing is just that good.

I believe someone posted an iracing news clip that there is a new server farm in Europe? I guess that would help with any lag issues?

anyway...iRacing is a fantastic sim! Speaking for myself, iRacing is the best for clean pickup racing!!

Personally, I have rFactor and GameStockCar (same engine as rF i believe) and something about the handling and FFB did not 'click' with me. I am now only using iRacing.

oh!! check out the iRacing deal thread! I know that there is a new deal (and likely older deals still good) from Inside Sim Racing where i believe you can get one extra car and one extra track (I believe it is the Daytona car and Watkin Glens track - Inside sim racing is hosting an event with this car and track in the near future). Good stuff if you qualify for a deal.

Got it! Unbelievably different to anything I've ever played before. The tracks are ultra realistic. The cars are challenging at first but it's amazing. Glad I've taken the risk and bought it!

iRacing is superb. There are other good ones, but when it comes to getting what you pay for, iRacing delivers much more. It's a commitment, but it's worth it!

Drift did you get my PM?

Yeah. Thanks for your help. :)
I had already bought the game before I got your PM so I couldn't enter the thing you said; really really sorry about that.
I managed to try out some of the Cadillac out. That thing is terribly sensitive compared to the MX5. There's a lot of learning to do! :dopey:

Great! I hope to see you on the track. I bet you will be lapping me in no time!
:)

It's a terribly steep learning curve for me at the moment. I'm not used to all this sensitive acceleration and such. But it's so rewarding when you get something right! :-)
