I just bought a premium 1970 dodge challenger and it doesnt go over 115 mph, i tried it stock, with engine upgrades, took off traction control, manual and automatic transmission, different tracks, and it doesnt pass 115 mph, it makes no sense. It's a 430 hp car...

buy a new transmission
had the same prob at the start of the game "wtf going on to this car 500 kw and 180~ kmh"

yea lol just found a thread on the same thing, this car is coming out a lot more expensive that it should have been

im gonna b using it for the classic and modern muscle car festivals, how much should i gear the top speed to? dont wanna set it to high cuz the acceleration will suck

It's because it has four gears and the car was built in the 70's, when american cars barely went over 100 mph.

I had that problem, and I do not like the FC trans (whine is annoying).

Does the problem have anything to do with the car's low redline? If so, does engine tuning help alleviate the problem?

Pretty much. These cars were typically geared for drag racing, not the autobahn. Most of the bias ply tires of that time would probably explode over 115 mph anyway.

It's ridiculous that users are forced to buy a completely new and annoying custom transmission (due to the noise), though.
It's true that those cars were geared for good 1/4 mile and 0-100 mph acceleration times, but in many cases there was a choice for different final drive ratios.

In the game cheap tuning parts to change the final drive ratio should really be added. Same for cheap, fixed setting LSD packages by the way.

The trannys in muscle cars are for one, only 3 or 4 speeds, and for two aren't geared for anything higher than those types of speeds.

It's all about the torque ;) 👍

BTW: Lots of Hp doesn't mean a car will go fast. I bet you could tune the gears enough that the 1,500HP X2010 could only reach 180 lol.

115 mph is reasonably good for a classic muscle car. They're designed to be good in drag races, not to be top supercars.

It is an old muscle car...they were not build for high speeds but only for acceleration. Just a few run more than 130mph, most of them are pretty slow.

They didn´t need to go fast, because in US top speed on road is 60mph, I guess.

The FC transmission doesn't whine as much with update 1.06. At least, That's what I've noticed.

Yeah, the FC transmission along with the engine upgrades killed the Zonda R's exhaust note.

Now it's back to normal.:)

And yeah, I bought the Dodge Challenger myself and I too was bamboozled by the low top end speed.

Then I remembered I bought an old American muscle car. So along with no turning ability, it had no top end.

Honestly you need to be using chase cam on the muscle cars anyways so you can hear the exhaust, and if you do that you wont hear the trans whine so it's win:win.
