I have recently bought the blueray GT5 prologue and I am really impressed.
My question is: Can anyone tell me if its possible to change tyre type ie R1, R2, R3 etc, in the game and how, as the choice in the game I have currently loaded has these 'Greyed-out'.
I am sorrry if you have dealt with this somewhere else on this forum but it has been bugging me for a while.

If the tyre selection is greyed out (disabled) it's because there specific tyre restrictions for that particular event. When you first enter the event there should be a schedule displayed which sets out what vehicles are eligible to enter, prizemoney (if any), Physics mode and tyres etc. Some events you can tune your car to increase horsepower and change handling settings etc but before these options become available you have to 'clear' (get bronze or better) in all A, B and C class events.

Welcome to the addiction of GT5P lol.

Most of the events (if not all) has restrictions on tires. Only some online races allow you to choose your tire preference. Other than that, Arcade mode is one that you can change tire preferences in.

This forum has almost everything you need help with. Just quickly run a search for your problems, if you cant find it. Post it and ask someone.

You'll also find that GTP has alot of fast and clean racers if you bump into them online.
Made my online experiences 100x better!

I was concerned that I had a damaged install or something not letting me change the tyres.I have played a couple of arcade events, and the on-line racing is good.I did notice that while racing though there seems to be individuals that have the need and the ability to slam your car off of the track without damage to theirs.Is there something I should know about this sort of thing?

There's no damage in any GT games as yet. There'll always be people willing to exploit this, regardless of how it affects others.

I hated being bumped online, but ever since i joined the GTP chat room and they let me know that usually GTP people generally race every 10mins. So XX:10/XX:20/XX:30 and so on (time goes by the clock in GT5P before you press START for online) online for the online 750pp Daytona Road though.

the 600pp Suzuka is every 12mins i believe.
