Strangest thing, my first car was an rx-7, never had any troubles with understeer, now with my new one, it cant do anything but understeer. I've put all my tuning knowledge to the test to solve this, it worked for my other cars, but doesnt do it with the rx-7. It would really help if anyone could give me some tips on how to make it a mean drifter.
thnx

yeah, those ended up reducing my traction and overall speed, so far i've tried tire combinations, suspension tension, brake balance. basically, diff tire combinations such as soft front medium bacl, or vise versa. For suspension i did hard in the front and a little bit looser in the back. and brake balance i've tried heavy on back, then heavy on front. I dunno, these were all the key factors i've used to tune myother cars, doesnt work for this one.

i have the same problem with my 98 rs. i just tuned it down a bit, adjusted the suspension, gears and better brakes. it still does pretty good.
but my advice is sell it and just use the second generation (series 5). max it out and configure the gear ratios. right now mine does 11.5 in the quarter with 310hp.

i am trying to get down to 10's so if anyone can help me out with the gear ratios.

Of course the first question to ask is: How's your racing line?

A quick way to reduce understeer is to decrease front toe; usually this will allow oversteer in the first half of the corner, but understeer out of it. It's a sacrifice, but I like to use it.

Play around with the brake balance controller, set for less in the front, and stronger in the rear to get the rear wheels spinning just enough under braking.

i feel like my technique is fine, i have gotten all of the licenses, not a great driver, but i know all the rules about cornering and how to use them. As for TOE, what does it do? i've asked and i've seen people ask, nobody seems to know. :)

toe in/out is how much the front of the tire points in or out like /----\ <--in \----/ <-----out, by making more toe in i think its like you are actually turning more
