Hi, I am new to the GT game but my understanding is that you cannot play in GT mode unless you accumulate credits in order to buy cars.
I have using the game in arcade mode only since this is the only option I have

is this normal?
Is this the way to accumulate credits in order to play the GT mode selection and able to purchase cars?
Right now i am not able to purchase any cars whatsoever.

Finally, I have the logitech gt force steering wheel, It really goes out of control and very unstable. I played around with the sensivitie no such luck.

I was told that you are able to turn cam on in view mode to see the interior as you are driving and as your head move the cam follows your direction in the interior mode. The cam is set properly but I am unable to have this feature work.
Any guidance would be appreciated
Thank you

Your understanding is wrong :) Try GT Mode...

You start GT mode with plenty of money to buy any of a variety of cars, both new and used.

Bro, welcome to GT5 and hope you enjoy. The first time you are in GT mode you are given a credit of 20,000 for you to buy your first car. Usually you buy it from the used car dealership. You can only buy a car for your particular level. So, assuming you will be at level zero then you can only buy a car marked level zero. With your first car you start racing, as you win and progress, you get more money as well as experience points which increases your level. Special events may be available for you too depending on your progression and level.

This is a very short summary but hope you get the gist. To say welcome, send me a friend request which I will accept and I will send you a free maxxed out car for you.

Hope this helps.

Ye, i can send you somethin too, sounds like you need a bit of help. The wheel you have is fine and you will get used to it. Go to options in the first screen and select the driving force gt. Change the force feedback to one, turn off the power steering and choose amateur too, this helped me when i first got my wheel. Good luck!

Forget the PS eye outside of arcade. Unless it's been patched to work now. Not sure.

Please don't reduce the FFB to "1". Although that would make it easier to drive, it doesn't quite provide you the feedback which kinda defeat the reason for having a DFGT wheel in the first place. Leave it at default or click the default button for the FFB which should bring it to 7. If you find it hard to turn, use the power steering option until you build enough confidence (or strength) to drive without.

Good place to start for someone who is struggling though. I turned mine to 7 after 3 days and now do well with it online.

when i first started there were no points available.
I will check again, i could not pick any car to drive in GTmode.
So bottom line, arcade mode is not as good as gtmode? although I can pick any car available however the race tracks are limited.

send me a friend request to C_Andretti on psn and I'll send you a car later today after reset. put gtplanet in tag line as I know who you are and I'll get one to you.

Indy

Same as Indy, if you want a free car, send me a friend request, CrackedTrlgger17, small L in Trigger. Something wired has happened you. Welcome to GT5!

If you send me an FR on PSN I'll send you a car set up for the Lightweight K Cup Seasonal races. These are probably the fastest and easiest way for a new player to get credits and XP while learning to drive. The car will also be good for several of the A and B spec races. My PSN ID is XDesperado67 just put Cuore in the request so I know who you are.

Add me if you want to. I can send whatever car you want and I can share whatever cars online for the seasonals. My 599 works good in the Ferrari seasonal at Sarthe. 500 grand in under 3.52 minutes is good to have when starting out lol.

Same as everyone else, I can send a car..

I also have the DFGT, and would recommend what the 1st person said.
Set it to FFB, then as you get more accustomed start bringing the FFB up (I prefer 5) and start removing the driving aids and you'll find your lap times increase.

Pretty much the whole point of the game is GT mode, in arcade mode you can only drive a limited list of cars and no standard cars, you don't win money, get seasonals, Online Dealership, and Online play

Add me daviemcg2011 and il send you a car of your choice bud il even tune it for you as well.
I also am new to using a dfgt wheel so could work on that if you want as well bud

I am really and truly impressed with how members are willing to help new members get started and up/running. Offering tips, setups and cars.

Would be nice though for the OP to acknowledge these helps/offers though. He kind of wrote his post and disappeared.

to al lthat responded, i am very grateful for your help
i will add you and hopefully get this to work on my end.

thank you so much

Hi Valentino. Read my reply to your PM... :)

There are hundreds of ways to do it.

I bought a Gran Turismo PDI Racing Kart 100 (you should be able to do that) from the Dealership (Gran Tursimo section) and then went to the Special Events and did the beginner cart events.

you need to follow what you level and your credits are and then you can buy more

B-Spec is also an option, set a driver online, ask some people to put it in remote races to get you started. It goes quickly.

nothing more than a case of the king feeding his slaves what he has spare, it's not kindness it's just 'wow look im a big boy in this game I can send you a slow car and you will be amazed because your new then I feel big and important' No need to thank anyone too much

valentino. goto your gt mode section. when there take a picture with a camera or phone and upload pic here. you should see something like this

does your screen match the above image? do you see 20,000 at the top of your screen?

Oy vey... Your nick explains it all. P.S. Don't your full stop & shift keys work?

@ sgllocal: I think he might be having issues. He PM'ed me & it sounds wacky. I suggested he re-loads the game from scratch.

If you figure it out, add me: armann539

and I'll send you a car. I'm not a high level; only 23 A-spec, but I can help some.

He doesn't have to buy a car, he can do the license tests. You win cars even if you only get bronze medals, and you get a little xp too
