I live in the US, and have had a release copy of the JPN version of GT5 Prologue. I wanted to update it, but I'm not sure how, or if I can.

Any suggestions?

update:

I've been messing around with it, and might have got it to start updating. I remembered that I had created a JPN account to download exclusive demos, etc., for that store. I logged in that account, and then guess a few screen selections when loading the game. This is where I'm at. Can anyone tell me if this is the update screen?

UPDATE #2:

Ok, apparently I'm getting an error when this portion is ongoing. Can anyone offer a translation, or any other suggestions on getting my copy up to date?

I'm not sure what the error means. Could it be that you don't have enough room on your HD? At least 5 GB is needed.

You can use your normal PSN ID. The Japanese one is not needed. Maybe you can try that one as well.

You're using the correct option in screen 1. It asks if you want to update with a yes/no question. The option on the right means yes.

Yeah, I have 83GB on the HDD, so I'm hoping that isn't an issue lol. I've tried both PSN ID's. I'm using the option on the right.

Thanks for the reply.

Just a wild guess here but do you think that it's the same problem we all had download stopping just takes a lot of tries.

Might try asking on the PS3 forum might be some that can read the JPN version and let you know

Well, I thought (more like hoped) that it was just having problems, stopping, restarting, etc. It just doesn't randomly. I mean, I've tried at least 30 times to update the game. It never stops in the same place lol. I've given up to be honest with ya though. It almost finished twice, and it stopped. I'm through with it.

That's a pity. When it fails, downloading will resume where you left off, though. Even when the progress bar restarts all the way at the beginning.

There are also several updates in a row which you have to endure.

I can still remember having to go through the same ordeal back in 2007 :irked:

When setting up a new PS3 when my old one got the YLOD recently, I had to download all again but this time it went in just one go :/
